"Luton Hoo Estate is a traditional privately owned Country Estate with cottages and offices to let, a historic walled garden and a famed film and event location."
The setting is beautiful. We came for afternoon tea for my friend's 50th birthday. Unfortunately it didn't live up to its reputation. We found the service to be lacking in areas, there were only 6 to 8 tables on and unfortunately that seemed to be a struggle for them. The food presentation was beautiful, however I do agree with other reviews, I've experienced better elsewhere for a fraction of the price. Overall I felt that the service you are experiencing and the food quality did not balance out to the price you are paying.
Brilliant luxury estate and excellent with two sites for weddings... the main Manor House and the walled Garden. Excellent for large weddings and particularly Indian Weddings. I captured Jeremy and Saijals last year and the dance floor was packed for 3 hours straight! Great wedding team there, who were a pleasure to work with.
We had a lovely day of golf at Luton Hoo. Daniel in the restaurant/coffee area was extremely polite, helpful and welcoming. Thank u agin Daniel, see you soon
My daughter almost 3years old and i visited Luton Hoo for a leaf farm event & to my surprise the views were so goregous. It really is a lovely day to spend with kids and nature. It grows its own vegetables and the plants. On this particular occassion it had a tractor ride and all the different tractors on display for the public to take pictures of. They catered for the kids with colouring, gardening and bouncy castle. In all was a great day for the kids to enjoy and had a few hot and cold food for the public. On a Wednesday it offers the place for £5 which is worth seeing. It also advertised that it has a coffee shop near by...definitely worth a visit if you have young kids.
Wonderful group of enthusiastic volunteers bringing this majestic location back to a splendid example of Capability Brown's influence. A huge amount has been achieved, still a lot more renovation of the glass houses, but well worth a visit.
Lovely place, great history, fantastic rooms to dine in. Room was ok Customer service very good on the whole and staff friendly HOWEVER… We ordered a sandwhich from room service and after waiting more then an hour went down inpersonto see what was taking so long. Long story short, our sandwhiches never turned up and no explanation was given. Staff were very apologetic but there was no compensation-off our bill despite this being offered. In short- there was a big failing which ultimately wasn't addressed. Other then that, it was a pleasant stay
First time I visited the Woodyard Coffee Place and what a delight. It was a lovely day, so sat outside and you felt you were in the country. Very friendly staff who bring your order to you. They had warmed the fruit scone which was fresh and delicious with the jam provided. The rest of the menu looked very inviting. Will definitely come again.
The Woodyard is brilliant for coffee/lunch, now Harpers has gone , so now the nearest place to meet friends for me!
What was suppose to be a lovely birthday surprise ended up being an experience of confusion, embarrassment and horrible service. My spouse pre booked and paid via online but staff was unaware that you can purchase afternoon tea in advance and left me with not receiving all that was purchased. It was embarrassing because I was there with friends and there was a lot of back and forth with the manager. Which then he finally confirmed my spouse did in fact pay in advance. Even with management error there was no act of real 5 star service.
The Woodyard cafe has good grub, naughty pastries and decent coffee. Hours and days of operation are a bit random but you'll have a good snack if you find them open
