Norcott Campsite - Camping In The Orchard

The field is on a slope and there's one toilet with a broken wash basin, the light doesn't work and the door doesn't fully close when the lock is on which is just as well because that way there's a bit of light in. At night, I suppose, you have to use a flash light...

In short, avoid this campsite. Let's get the sole positive out of the way - location. Great placement for a stroll through Ashridge and beyond. Beyond that, it's not well kept, the facilities are quite frankly awful and often left in poor condition (water collection bucket overflowing and flooding), free roaming chickens in the site running supreme of which there's no mention on the camps website. Last but not least a loud, loud house party on our 2nd night which woke the whole campsite at 4am. Completely deplorable and not the sort of campsite I'd ever stay at again.

Nice enough campsite, very basic but not a problem. (Could have done with a better system for the sink water as was overflowing). Wasn't impressed being woken at 4AM by a very loud party by occupants of the house, shouting with no respect for anyone else.

Stayed one night. Really lovely people and beautiful place :)

Perfect for what I needed arriving late at night and leaving early morning- The owners were contactable by mobile so could help me out with directions. Basic functional facilities, but can't really go wrong for £5! Definitely coming back- next time I will make use of the fire pits!
