My partner booked dinner at Adam's, was really looking forward to it but from the moment we walked in the experience was very disappointing. Located in Luton hoo, the decor is lacking and seems dated, staff are not very attentive and seem to spend more time chatting amongst themselves then serving tables, seemed to take ages to order food and to pay the bill considering only a handful of customers in the restaurant. The food itself was ok but nothing to shout about, I had the steak for mains, medium but clearly the meat wasnt rested before serving as my plate had blood seeping into the plate. Personally I wouldn't recommend, plenty of good restaurants in Harpenden which is just down the road.
We had dinner here as we stayed in Luton Hoo It was quiet when we arrived. The service was prompt and of a good standard. Food was average and in my opinion pricey. After dinner we tried the brasserie bar which was a total bore. It looked old and shabby. There was no music, it was cold and it felt depressing like an old person place. The barman was nice and funny and he made us nice cocktails hence the 4 star rating, but in all honesty, I wouldn't want to go back.
Cannot fault it at all. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly and accomadating. They were great with recommendations, even offered something not on the all day menu to help. It's nice to see people who enjoy what the doo. The food was great I had a lovely Sunday roast. The portion was generous, the meat tender and cooked to perfection and to potatoes and veg were tasty. I would 100% go back again and highly recommend it. The only thing I would say the actual grounds could be sign posted a little better as we got a bit confused.
You just can't get the help. Served a warm bottle of water and a rather tepid bottle of expensive white wine. Ice provided on request. Prompt service for starters but our mains were delivered to the wrong table. Food was really good, fresh and delicious. Good portion sizes. Vegetarian options: A number of vegetarian and vegan options Dietary restrictions: Vegan and vegetarian options available. Clear ingredient guidelines Parking: Lots of parking a short walk away. Limited EV charging Kid-friendliness: Not a great place for kids unless outside on the terrace Wheelchair accessibility: Good access for parking and dining room
A great brasserie with covered heated outdoor seating or a beautiful interior with booths and tables. A great selection of well cooked dishes with fresh local produce, great flavours and decent portions. The steak was one of the next we've had and the spring chicken was outstanding. Leave room for dessert! Great selection of drinks, there was ample Champagne flowing and we were there on a Monday! Adam's is great for both a casual lunch or an indulgent group dinner. Some of the photos are of Room service dishes we had delivered including seared tuna and asparagus with parmesan.
I had a wonderful dinner here. Felt like a vantage kinda restaurant. Very helpful staff, superb neat environment and treated like a king. I highly recommend a visit as I definitely will be revisiting. Thank you for the time to the wonderful staff.
I honestly cannot fault the staff they were very tentative, friendly and just great. The food however lacked sophistication for the price you pay. Looking around at what people had ordered when I arrived I felt I was in a Fuller's pub. This restaurants came google recommended as 'similar to' places I have been, such as Soho house and local restaurants near me, e.g The Orchard. The food was a far cry from those places and highly over priced. For my main I ordered the beef and macaroni which was really just a plate full of salt no taste of cheese and it looks like it was a easy to cook packet. There is so much potential for this place based on the location, sadly the food needs to level up and better choices for children. The evening menu had fewer choices than what was served at lunch time which also was highly disappointing. They had run out of chocolate brownies and the options for chocolate doughnuts was rather miserable that the children didn't even touch them. they looked shop bought. Luckily I read the reviews before going so did not go with high expectations but expected better then the low mark I had set.
I went there to celebrate my daughter's first birthday. It was a wonderful experience. Towards the end of our meal the place got busy and we had to wait a lot to pay our bill. Eventually when no one came to our table we had to go to the desk to pay since baby was getting restless. I would suggest staff to dedicate their time to tables allocated to them.
I was expecting a little more for a £12 sandwich...ok in the photo my bf has taken 'A' bite out of one piece... it came like it was made for a child accompanied by some stale crisps with a pinch of salad plonked on...bit sad really! The chips were ok but also overpriced at £6. The staff here are friendly but service was a bit slow... in all fairness to them a big group had arrived which I don't think they were expecting... however that's even more reason to not make people wait and suprise them with this poor effort of a sandwich which can be enhaled in a heartbeat. Luton Hoo itself is a magnificent place to visit if you're around here which is why im refraining from giving it 1 star. There's also a peacock wondering around which was entertaining and helped pass time whilst we were waiting for drinks and food to come.
Dinner at Adam’s Brasserie is probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I may as well have been dining at a motorway service station - it certainly did not represent any of the photos that are on the website. The lights are glaring, there are no personal touches to the tables and the service was slow and unfriendly. When we arrived for dinner one of the waiters told us we were only entitled to a 2 course dinner. When we said we were actually due a 3 course meal per the website description he said he would go and check and come back to us. He did not come back to chat with us. It’s really not a great way to start dinner when you’re told you’re not going to have what you signed up for. The service was slow and ill attentive despite the restaurant only being half full. We asked to order wine and were rudely told to wait. Once finished we then asked for the bill…we waited 20 minutes and it never came so we decided to leave. This was not in part to not pay the bill but because we were frustrated from the whole evening. The waiters then told us we weren’t due a 3 course meal but were in fact only allowed £40 worth each. We disputed this and showed the booking email as well as the website which states we were entitled to a 3 course meal. I shouldn’t expect to have to haggle our dinner at a 5* hotel. The fact we were then told we had to pay almost £20 for terrible service was beyond me. Don't waste your time or money coming to this restaurant... go and dine at The Grove instead!
