Arrived at the pub without a reservation, upon entering the premises, we were greeted by Jayne the Landlady, who made us very welcome and quickly invited us to sit down and gave us a menu. The food was excellent and not expensive, the ambience and decor was lovely and you could clearly see that Jayne had an eye for attention to detail. I would highly recommend the pub, food and drink
First time eating here since it changed hands and wow what a pleasant surprise! Really fantastic roast at a great price - genuinely beats a lot of the local offerings. So welcoming to our young children, lovely staff, will 100% be returning.Food: 5/5
Well, what a wonderful pub!!! Such a lovely and genuine warm welcome. Jayne the landlady was wonderfully attentive the whole evening. Lovely atmosphere, very good food. The service was exceptional and a breathe of fresh air in a world where good service seems to have been forgotten. So lovely to have a different and varied menu too. Will be returning regularly.

We had our works Christmas party here because the new owners are doing such a great job with this pub. We weren’t disappointed we had an amazing night with live music on too. The food was perfectly cooked, the best Christmas meal we’ve had for years, thanks team we will be back!
Sunday roast was amazing I love every bit of it and the cauliflower cheese was incredible. Went again the following Friday and again the food was delicious. The staff was brilliant Recommend the best place to go in topsham for food.
We had a delicious Sunday Lunch to celebrate my sons birthday. Great service, lovely bottle of wine and the roast was delicious. Mine was veggie and that was fab too! All served beside a cosy wood burner. We will definitely dine here again! Food: 5/5
As a regular to topsham, and a few years since being here, what an amazing surprise. Great food...amazing menu and could not choose...too many refreshing choices. My fish was amazing and maybe the best mushy peas I have ever had... very pretty and great service and great feeling...board games, great value and a friendly dog... make a visit and enjoy the experience....
First bar we came upon after getting the train. Very welcoming, great atmosphere for Xmas. Staff are very friendly. Didn't eat but the restaurant looked beautiful. Cosy seating, music & a game of darts available. Will definitely be back. Merry Christmas Service: 5/5
If you drive to this pub make sure you pay for parking!! After popping in for a drink we will never return. It is not clear that you have to tell the pub you have parked to obtain free parking and no one in the pub asked. The atmosphere was great and staff friendly however going just over an hour we had a £100 fine!!! We tried to call the pub but they didn’t want anything to do with it and after sending evidence to the parking company they also stated we should have informed the pub. A very expensive drink with friends but what has disappointed me more is that both the pub and parking would not even entertain trying to help.
