AVOID!!! I paid for the parking however their machine did not let me enter my car registration and after I clicked the first letter it took me straight to payment. I displayed the ticket on the car dashboard however I still received a fine because they could not reconcile the registration. I appealed and supplied a photo of the ticket and my credit card statement showing it was paid from my card however they rejected the appeal because an admin cost was involved. So although I paid for the parking I now have to pay the fine because their machine did not work as expected. AVOID.
The car park itself is fine, my complaint is about the payment machine and the incorrect terms signage. After 6pm until 07:59, the cost of overnight parking is clearly labelled as £2, on both machine notice and larger sign, with a note to press a small yellow button to achieve this overnight slot.nHowever, the yellow button does nothing and the machine doesn't permit any other way to pay £2.nI had to pay £8 for a 24 hour ticket to be able to stay to 8am the next day.nI'd chosen this car park especially for this option, as I'd seen it on the photos of signage in Google.nnAlso its posted you can pay online but when you go to try, it says not for overnight! So I had to squeeze in an unplanned visit to the car park at 6pm to try to pay.nI was not a happy bunny by the end of the trying to pay overnight charge debacle!nnSo the signage is either outright lying to con you into having to pay more or is out date. Either way, I wasted 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get the yellow button to work, without success. There was another woman there having the same problem as me too.nOwners of this park. Correct your signage or fix your machines yellow button!
Good value BUT note that it is sometimes free to park last Sunday in the month. However, the sign displaying free days is posted near the pedestrian exit..... AFTER you've bought your ticket!! The app is easy to use but takes a while to set up which will eat into your time ANPR records entry time. Download the app and set it up BEFORE you drive in.
Good, spacious car park under 10 minutes walk from the centre of Chester. The prices were reasonable and you can pay by contactless payment at the pay machines.nWe were lucky to visit on one of the free Sundays it's NOT free every Sunday, just selected ones throughout this year, displayed on the blue signs in the car park - watch out for these as we saw several people who hadn't noticed them and were trying to pay; the machines still took their money despite it being a 'free' day!.
Parked here for less then 15 min near midnight to pick up my partner, signs are sparingly placed with only 1 ticket machine. So assumed it would be ok just to pick up. No... £51 charge in the post.
