I visited Leek Moorland walk in centre this morning. I didn't have to wait very long before being seen by a lovely nurse called Hayley. She was really friendly and helpful and I was very impressed by the treatment I received.
A well organised service minor injuries is excellent with friendly efficient staff and the hospital is kept so clean we are so lucky to have this facility in the moorlands
Worst experience ever go to have my foot looked at as trying to get in my doctors is near impossible so I arrive to be asked why am there and I explained what was up to be told we won't do nothing to help u as u need speak to the doctors everything time I tried to speak the rude male nurse kept saying well we won't be doing nothing to help you so when i told him no need be rude he then tried to be nice no your attitude sticks mate absolutely disgusting we all fought to keep it open whats the point get the place shut down if he is s nurse god help everyone absolutely no people skills what so ever .
Unable to use the ridiculously over complicated Website. Whoever designed it didn't think about people who aren't tech savvy - I am, & still can't understand it. Shouldn't need a degree in reading a website to be able to use it. Moorlands hospital, on the other hand is excellent. Just a shame it's so difficult to contact them as the phone lines are always busy.
Just brilliant all staff cheerful and attentive, lovely atmosphere made it much easier. X-ray done and everything else within an hour or so brilliant!!! A really valuable resource, all the nurses need medals
I called into the Walk In Unit at Leek with a minor injury to do with Bursitis and infection in my left elbow. The level of care and quality of medical treatment from Triage nurses at Leek Moorlands is outstanding. It is something to be proud of if living in Leek to know that you have this wonderful quality of nursing and medical assistance on your doorstep. Thank you Triage nurse 'Joanne' for your outstanding treatment and thanks to all other staff in attendance at this unit. This is NHS at its brilliant best.
just writing this because I went here on the Friday 13th I had an appointment around 9/10AM. & these two members of staff were absolutely incredible with me, I’ve had ongoing pain and sickness the lot been referred here there and everywhere with no actual help I suppose, i cried as soon as I left here.. because I’d never felt heard or taken ‘seriously’ I don’t think I caught their names but they were both young one black hair very lovely and another lady with blonde hair hoping if I do get any more appointments in the future they will be here. Lovely little place & thankyou for everything you’re putting in place for me :
I.m sending this good 5 star review in about leek moorlands hospital because i had had a blood test originally booked for dec 29th but had to cancel it then booked one for jan 12th but will have to cancel that one too now because north staffs did my blood test at the TIA clinic. so i apologise for this because its a super hospital with super staff and needs to be kept open. i had a blood test done today aug 16th and its the 1st time i have been in the moorlands since covid hit. and its a very good little clinic the nurse was very efficient and i didn.t even have to wait and went straight in. Shocking service and no compassion shown when I went with a fractured metatarsal, I was in lots of pain and knew it was a fractured metatarsal as I’d had one in the other foot the year before, I was told to see my GP and they didn’t X-ray as ‘ I’d not injured it’ got referred by my GP back to them 2 weeks later for the x Ray. I got there at 1.25 for my 1.30 appointment and no one was in reception or x Ray so I waited in reception to be told at 1.30 that you should be in x Ray so back to x Ray I went to wait for 10 minutes while the x Ray staff finished their conversation which was gossip about another staff member, Guess what? The X-ray showed a fractured metatarsal! My GP said that I had to wait for 10 days and have another x Ray, I was in agony so went after work to Leek Moorlands walk in centre as website said 8-8pm Opening to be turned away at 5.05pm as they had closed at 5.05pm! Told to go to the Haywood! Haywood wait was 5hrs so I went back to Leek the next day at4pm, waited til 4.40 then x Ray came round to ask the receptionist who was face timing her daughter at the time if there was anyone for x Ray she said no without checking if I or the little girl who couldn’t walk needed one, I was furious! Guess what I was told I needed an x Ray as my foot was so swollen, they referred me to the fracture clinic the week after and the consultant was disgusted with having no x Ray to look at. and asked why I’d not had sn x Ray or been given a metatarsal shoe, when I explained What happened he said they have been kept open to help with waiting times, how can a walk in centre close at 5 when the Haywood has a 5 hour wait ?? I for one will never go back, rude staff who make you feel like an inconvenience and receptionists making decisions on who needs an x Ray !!
We are so fortunate to have this place in leek, I recently had an operation on my leg and it bled through the dressing, I visited leek moorland and the staff there were so nice, so helpful, and did an amazing job, it saved me having to go to Stoke to sit in A&E all day. Thanks so much to everyone there
