Wish I could give 0 stars or even minus, this place is so terrible. The Doctors I have seen have been great and the Nurses are really good too. But the admin staff, heavens above. They are so rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. They sound and act like they obviously hate their jobs. They never seem to want to actually help you or have a morsel of empathy in them whatsoever. I was refused an appointment, although I am under Consultant care and take immunosuppressive medication, and have been advised in chances of infection, I must be seen as urgent. The lady on the phone straight rejected my request for an appointment even with this information. Not once was I rude, aggressive or offensive in any way. Her response was "I was sick recently too. This isn't very nice first thing in the morning". I mean, I understand the NHS are under a lot of pressure, especially at this time of year but as a calm vulnerable patient, I would have hoped for some empathy, support and understanding. I still didn't get my appointment and she was very hesitant when I asked her to put a note on my file that I had called for an appointment and she refused. It's a shame really, as the health centre is where you go when you are feeling unwell and need health care, you'd expect or hope at least for someone with a little bit of human emotion in them. The admin staff need training, not only on what they should be doing, but more so on how to talk to and treat people, as human beings. I really hope they improve their services, as I can see by previous reviews, this place is not a nice place to visit. I did end up seeing a Doctor a couple of days later, to be told that I possibly do have a bacterial infection in my chest. I really hope my file was noted as I don't think the admin staff should be able to make the decision on whether I can have an appointment or not, based on my specific needs as laid out by my Consultant. Also, they are very quick to give medical advice, as mentioned in previous reviews and this should not be happening as can lead to a lot of trouble for patients. . TLDR: great medical staff, horrendous admin staff.
Was such a 5 star place many years ago... one of the best. This place has gone so downhill its unbelievable. As some of the professionals are brilliant, their system is not working at all. They've removed appointments online and the online consultation has also been removed. If you call a second after 8am.. thats it. No appointment for you. Nothing online has been updated since the ice age. Very poor for a GP service in 2022. If you look online youll be still be adviced on when to do E Consult. Even though it no longer exists. And receptionists have no training whatsoever on how to speak to patients. I'm disappointed beyond words. Don't bother thinking about coming here.
Please avoid if you can. You spend an hour trying to get an appointment to then have one over the phone. My 2 year old is unwell and I had an appointment over the phone. Since covid they have still carried on with phone appointments. I'm sorry but a 2 minute phone conversation doesn't replace an appointment where you can physically check my son, check his temperature etc and recieve a prescription. As a mother no reassurance at all.
The government over the last 7/8 years or so has become too lenient on GP surgeries, who are getting away with too much especially during and after COVID. It's ludicrous that I work full time and can't get at least a telephone appointment with my GP or even see my GP and the fact you have to battle to call and get into the que is a pathetic system, absolute flawed system.
I wouldn’t even bother giving this surgery 1 star. The docs are great BUT to even get an appt so see one, you have to wait 100 years as lines are constantly busy. I was caller number 30 for over 1 hour. Eventually when I got through there were no appointments left. And the receptionist told me to call back tomorrow. I explained I called last week for an appt for my 5 year old daughter but she said “the symptoms you have described sounds like an ongoing problem and nothing new, from my assessment she’s a receptionist she does not need an emergency appt so call back tomorrow!” Now receptionist’s make assessments whether your child needs to be seen or not. These receptionists probably have a BTec qualification in health & beauty and are now behaving like they have PHDs. If you ask for an emergency appt, they ask for name, dob but still say no appt, so why they taking patient details for if you still claim no appt?
I was a bit apprehensive about registering my new born and I due to the negative reviews but i can honestly say my experience has been the total opposite. Can always get an appointment and we've had quite a few over the past couple of months with vaccinations etc. The reception staff are lovely and helpful and the clinicians are friendly and knowledgeable.
The surgery is fully empty but they say no appointments available . I don’t understand why they are still open!!! no concern for the people or children. After 2days of calling got through. Absolutely disappointed.
I had an appointment with the travel nurse.she kept me waiting over 20 minutes. Also she recommended vaccinations and medications I didnt need but which I paid for. And then when I try to pay for the vaccination, she mentions they only take cash. Why didnt she mention this before. And why not learn to research that I didn't need these vaccinations especially when I gave full details of where I was going . it looks she profited from selling vaccinations. My fellow travelers Said they were not given the same vaccinations advice as they were correctly advised the vaccination was not needed. And they were advised correctly not to buy prophylaxis medication as that was not needed.
Wouldn't even rate it one star what a absolute joke of a gp surgery the place you are meant to go when u need it the most. Can't ever get an appointment. The phone line is constantly busy and last 2 days i m calling them and the end I m getting reply back " sorry all appointments gone, please tomorrow morning 8am come to surgery and book phone call appointment". If I m working in morning then how its possible to go there and just book telephone appointment The staff are rude and barely know what they are doing. Honestly now a days the worse place to go.
I don't know who these new owners are, but there is one nurse there that looks like she came straight out of a World War 2 German medical camp and was part of the wrestling team. She handles needles like throwing darts or stabbing weapons and was very rude with no communication skills. Somebody needs to remind her that the war is over and that communism lost. I do not want to deal with this nurse again.
