We stayed in one of the apartments, that was small but well appointed, we thought it was lovely. Nice views out of the living and bedroom. Please note, the stairs need care. The room has everything you need, including small kitchen, shower etc. The pub is lovely, much character and very well kept cellar. It's quite small but this adds to its charm. The staff are incredibly helpful both in arranging the room and behind the bar. Very close to Whitby where we had a lovely visit. Great place to stay if you're visiting the area. Please note the room also has a car park pass for the car located in the "Bay", interesting drive to it. We thoroughly recommend. Rooms: Lovely apartment Nearby activities: The "Bay" is a lovely place to visit. Be warned it is steep, but worth it. Walkability: Great walking throughout. Food & drinks: Very well kept cellar. Noteworthy details: Small pub but with great character.
We love this lovely pub, so friendly and perfectly placed for the walk up the hill, thoroughly recommend it . We will have to stay so we can see what the room is likeService: 5/5
As a result of extensive research over 42 years I can authoritatively confirm the pub serves the best pint of Theakston’s Old Peculiar IN THE WORLD. Great atmosphere and friendly welcome too.
A lovely pub that ticks all the boxes. A friendly place that was popular with locals always a good sign. You can feel the history in the place. Highly recommended
Always a great pub. Tiny but perfectly formed, with some lovely beer. If you're lucky enough to be there for the quiz on a Wednesday it's a good bit of fun. Took my 12yr, 14yr and 16yr boys all made welcome. I'll be back on my next trip upService: 5/5
