Initial contact with new sales man Liam was excellent. Hence the one star. He did explain that he was working under supervision but he was professional and knowledgeable. On our first visit we had booked a test drive, we were very clear about what wanted and after taking all our information and looking at the Mini Cooper we were trading in we got our first experience of Ben who was supervising Liam. He was arrogant and condescending to the point that I suggested we leave at that point. My partner however was a determined and genuine buyer and so went on the test drive. On getting back from the test drive and discussing the figures we couldn’t reach an agreement and left disappointed. We were contacted again by Liam and discussed a slightly older model of Passatt and agreed to go in again to discuss. We did some research and went in with clear boundaries on what we were prepared to pay, cash. Liam was fully aware of this before we arrived. Another test drive later and then unfortunately Ben got involved again. This time in addition to the arrogance and patronising attitude he was quite aggressive in his body language and tone. Interestingly we are both women, I wonder if he’d have spoken to a man like that. At this point we left. Customer services contacted us a couple of days later and got the whole story, including how disgusted we were with bens behaviour towards us. They assured us this would be fed back. We have now purchased, for cash, exactly what we were looking for from the excellent team at skipton Volkswagen , pick it up Friday. Lancaster have not only lost our sale but one from my sister who was seriously interested in a new car. To say nothing of the poor word of mouth damage this will cause. Update - still waiting for the contact mentioned in the response, no surprise there.

Bought a new car here 2 years ago, great to deal with but life changes and the car no longer suited or needs. Went back recently looking to replace it but they didn't seem interested. Their loss, we bought a new car elsewhere the same day. Update, downed them to 1*. After getting rid of my VW, I asked them to remove me from their database. Despite returning post, replying to texts and asking them on the phone when they called, they continued to contact me with marketing information and prompts to have my non-existent VW serviced. Even when VW UK forward my complaint to them, they do nothing.
