I have been an outpatient at Lancashire cardiac centre for many years attending with a severe leaking heart valve, following a routine test I was told that I had developed an thoracic Aorta aneurysm and required an operation which took place in May 2024.nnThe operation was to repair / replace the descending aorta and also the aorta heart valve. We met Prof Chaun Cardiologist and later Prof Bittar Cardiothoracic Surgeon.nnThese meetings put us at ease helping to take away many of the worries of a major operation, they answered questions with confidence and I knew I had the right people to look after me.nnThe operation was a success and I was home after one  week in hospital and have continued my recovery commencing driving recently.   To all of the staff who cared for me during my recent stay at the Lancashire cardiac centre a Big THANK YOU for basically saving my life.

Just attended Blackpool cardiology for 3 different tests prior to surgery. The staff in every department were brilliant. A big shout out for Michael who did my respiratory test.nWhat a lovely young man .I am not feeling as stressed now waiting for surgery if all the staff are as caring. Thankyou.

This my second visit to this hospital and can not praise it enough the staff are wonderful caring compassionate but also a good laugh. The hospital is excellent with great facilities got me up and running again in no time. My thanks to you all.

My husband was referred to cardiology in January 2024 by A & E it is now August havn't heard a thing apart from a letter in Feb saying they will give 6 weeks notice for appointment. Two weeks ago so early August GP also referred him and Yesterday got a email to choice & Book the earliest that was offered is July 2025. A year away is absolutely disgusting. Urology wont do an operation he needs until he has seen cardiology you literaly cant get anywhere,. He is a triple heart bypass patient 11 years ago and now he has started having problems that need checking and at this rate he will be dead by the time he is seen.I am absolutly furious he is having to wait so long. Hospitals used to be a caring institute not now. Doctors get paid more and work less.
