Story

Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital is the main NHS hospital for the Lancashire boroughs of Chorley and South Ribble. The hospital is situated on Euxton lane in Chorley close to junction 8 of the M61The hospital comes under the authority of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust along with the Royal Preston Hospital.There were once another two NHS hospitals in the town, Eaves Lane and Heath Charnock, which both closed in the 1990s. Euxton Hall Hospital is a private facility run by Ramsay Health Care UK still in operation in the village of Euxton. Chorley & South Ribble Hospital NHS Trust was established in 1992 but merged with Preston in 2002. The official opening of Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital was performed by HRH Princess Anne on 28 April 1997.

Took my partner here a couple of weeks ago, late at night, with a post surgery infection. The staff were absolutely amazing. Caring and compassionate, efficient in their administration of care and got him to where he needed to be very quickly. I cannot praise them highly enough.
Just visited the Endoscopy unit at Chorley hospital, have got to give five stars for the nurses and the doctor. They made me totally at ease with their absolute professionalism and humanity. Thank you for the brew and a job well done. My only fault is, I didn't get to keep a pair of those trendy shorts to add to my summer wardrobe.
So pleased I went here. I am new to this town and needed antibiotics for a dental emergency whilst I wait to go to the dentist. I was put at ease by all the kind staff who work very hard to get everyone seen as quick as possible. I was only there for two hours to my amazement. Very professional kind staff and pleasant atmosphere for a hospital. Thank you so much
I have had several appointments recently and more to come. In my opinion this hospital is second to none. The staff are professional but friendly and very caring. When I read about waiting lists in other parts of the country I think we are so Blessed with our NHS in Chorley hospital.
I attended urgent care with my husband last night after he injured his knee. All the staff were really nice but the lady doctor who saw him was an absolute star and she explained everything to him in great detail. I don't know her name but she is an asset to the department.
It would have been 5 stars, but the lady on the switchboard let you down! she was a little abrupt, to say the least! I called 111 and the nurse got me an appointment at urgent care at Chorley. My appointment was at 12pm. I was seen by two nurses, the x Ray department, then back to a nurse. I was out for 1:10pm! Fantastic job!
My optician referred me to Chorley Hospital with suspected tear in retina. When I arrived at Urgent Care it was standing room only. Although It was clear that it was extremely busy and stressful the staff that dealt with me were lovely. The nurse who triaged me on the door was very nice and the chap who checked me in was chatty and pleasant. THANK YOU! In the event my optician could have referred me straight to the Rapid Eye Assessment Unity that has recently opened at Chorley Hospital. I was quickly triaged and sent through to the unit, which is impressive. Once again, thorough, committed and pleasant receptionists, nurses and doctors. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL.
Not my usual holiday pics, had an accident in Turkey over a week ago, hospitalized and operation to my wrist, excellent care in the private hospital in Fethiye, but to come back for further care at Chorley Hospital, Urgent Care were absolutely amazing, the staff were wonderful, in and out within 2hrs, and a call next day for an appointment at Fracture Clinic, no dramas, made me feel I was the only patient there. I myself joined the NHS 1980, seen many changes, over the years, but can honestly say the service I received at Chorley hospital was second to none THANKYOU
I went to A@E at Chorley on Monday 10th October with chest pain I was admitted to MAU then coronary care The treatment I received from every ward was amazing MAU was manic and they never stopped all night but the care to everyone was exceptional and done in such a lovely manner.Coronary care was also amazing Every member of staff was friendly and caring and everything was done with a smile . The ward was run efficiently and it made you feel really safe. I would not be frightened of going back into this fantastic hospital
On 23rd August I went into Leyland ward. Mr Bourne operated on my neck to remove a disc in my neck for the second time. As the first he did a fantastic job. He has also removed a disc in my lower spine too. All the staff in the wards were brilliant too and I would like to thank each and every one of them.
