Story

Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital is the main NHS hospital for the Lancashire boroughs of Chorley and South Ribble. The hospital is situated on Euxton lane in Chorley close to junction 8 of the M61The hospital comes under the authority of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust along with the Royal Preston Hospital.There were once another two NHS hospitals in the town, Eaves Lane and Heath Charnock, which both closed in the 1990s. Euxton Hall Hospital is a private facility run by Ramsay Health Care UK still in operation in the village of Euxton. Chorley & South Ribble Hospital NHS Trust was established in 1992 but merged with Preston in 2002. The official opening of Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital was performed by HRH Princess Anne on 28 April 1997.

Brought my mum for eye surgery, my mum was hard work, but every member of staff involved in the whole eye department. From the pre-op to the surgeon we had multiple nurses deal with us was sterling in their service. The surgery didn't go ahead for reasons not of their fault, but the patience, kindness, and going above and beyond in their efforts to try to serve her even when she was being difficult, to comfort her and make her feel like she wasn't a burden, their heart to serve people was warming to observe.nnBest hospital service I have seen in my 36 years of age.nnTruly thankful to God for these people.nnExcellence and generosity was observed today.
Attended here today for some exploratory tests regarding my eyes. I arrived over an hour early as I was using public transport and was seen immediately. The five staff that I dealt with in different capacities were all efficient and friendly. The hospital environment was clean and calm. I felt that I was in good, reassuring, hands.
Never again! Sent by GP. Arrived 4 pm. Sat in waiting room no bigger than 7ft square. Very hot with no ventilation. Still there at 8.30 pm. Change of shift . New shift decided to take patients blood in the crowded waiting room. One patient next to me had bloods taken. Her arm practically on my knee. Disgusting. Unprofessional. Still not seen by 9 pm. Will refuse this hospital in future.
Awful experience! I was sent for CT scan at Chorley although I live in Preston. After a 2 hour bus journey I arrived to be treated by disrespectful and inconsiderate staff who interrogated me before giving me the scan. I answered all the questions but the person refused to accept my answers! I have anxiety which was made worse by this whole experience. I was polite and said thank you at the end but was ignored.
Absolute disgrace of a hospital. A&E not fit for purpose. Waits well over 20 hours and beyond for treatments or beds.nAbsolutely no Doctors, maybe two for the entire hospital. Unless your absolutely dying, do not go here.nThe management and NHS want lynching.
