We stayed for two nights with Chrissie and Joe while walking Wild Boar Fell. Lockholme is a real home from home and Chrissie and Joe are so welcoming. The rooms are cozy and fresh and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are amazing and have been done to a really high standard - the showers are amazing! I sent Chrissie an email ahead of time saying that we are vegetarian with mostly vegan in our diet - she made us a vegan lemon drizzle cake for tea on arrival and a vegan banana cake the next day. We had almond milk with everything, vegan bread, vegan breakfast - nothing was too much trouble. It's a really nice and cozy breakfast around a family table getting to meet the other guests, some walkers, C2C walkers and other Kirkby Stephen visitors. Would thoroughly thoroughly recommend Lockholme.

Well appointed and comfortable rooms with exceptional attention to detail to cover all those things you forgot to bring. Breakfasts and packed lunches are very good. Chrissy and Joe do a great job of looking after you.

So looked forward to sharing this gem of a b&b with my husband. The detail & passion the owners have is only outdone by their friendliness.

After a 20 mile day from Shap I was offered cake and tea as soon as I walked in the door - a great welcome! I had the single room which has its bathroom across the hall... great shower and a nice deep bath to soak away the aches and pains. Solid wifi and a generous breakfast. Chrissie and Joe helped other guests book tables at the local pub... they were incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

This is by far the best B&B I've ever stayed in. Lovely accommodation, great breakfast and the friendliest owners. Thank you Joe and Crissie for much needed comfort, rest and good food. Glen, Steve & Andy
