Whilst the food was lovely and the evening started off well, unfortunately we didn't have a good night's stay. Though it was not the hotel's fault that someone's bath leaked through the ceiling and set the fire alarm off all night, it was the response to this which is the reason I am only providing a 1 star. I was deeply upset as we were never provided with an apology. We were woken up by fire alarms which really frightened Me, particularly as I am almost 7 months pregnant and was very worried I may have gone into premature labour and lost our unborn child. I felt that not all of the guests were informed of what happened and we did not receive reassurance as this continued a few hours later. In addition, the heater in our room was broken and was left turned on to full. As the dial was no longer on the radiator, we could not turn it down so we had to sleep with all the windows open all night which made our stay very unpleasant. We did inform the hotel however unfortunately it was not taken seriously. I was deeply saddened by my night's experience at the hotel. Whilst I understand the incident of the guest's bath over flowing was not the hotels fault, it was the response which I felt let them down. I was even more upset that we never received an apology for the night as this could have had a serious impact on my pregnancy. We were offered no refund or apology and I am not sure we would stay again.

I have stayed at this hotel over the past three years and seen quite a few changes to the staff and management. I decided to return and spend three nights a week and sample the hotel after a considerable break. I was delighted to be greeted and served by a new team of professional and friendly staff. The rooms have been very clean and the food has much better than on my previous visits.I would like to praise Paige and Cherise for making my stay really pleasant with their friendly yet professional style and personalities. It made my stay home from home and I am very happy to return in the future.

Where has your nice comfy seating gone? Decor gone down hill. Didn't inspire me to return. Wine mediocre. Friendly staff. And good atmosphere. Did not try food but in the past i have eaten here and it was good value.

Very sad to say we will not be going back..... have eaten here many times over the years and always had a lovely time.but last few times have been told the Kitchen was closed. This being 2.40pm Sunday lunch time. Last time we had a lunch on a Saturday the food was fine but the place was in a right mess.tables not cleaned not water in the toilets and to top it the toilets didn't flush...

These guys were having a very bad day when we visited for lunch. Only 2 people on front of house who seemed really overwhelmed. A table who ordered ahead of us sent their food back as all 6 dishes were cold. When it returned they accused the staff of simply microwaving the same dishes instead of making them fresh and then they left without eating a thing. We waited for more than an hour for our order and when we chased the waiter he came back and said the kitchen had lost our order and would only then be able to start cooking. We promptly left. A 90th birthday party for about 30 people was just kicking off as we left... I sincerely hope they got better treatment than we did.
