Kilburn Park Underground Station

Story

Kilburn Park is a London Underground station at Kilburn in the London Borough of Brent. The station is on the Bakerloo line, between Queen's Park and Maida Vale stations, and is in Travelcard Zone 2.The station is situated on Cambridge Avenue approximately 100 m west of Kilburn High Road, shortly before it becomes Maida Vale, (A5). It is Grade II listed.HistoryKilburn Park was opened on 31 January 1915 as the temporary terminus of the Bakerloo line's extension from Paddington station towards Queen's Park. Services were extended to Queen's Park on 11 February 1915. At the extension's opening, Maida Vale station was not complete and the previous station was Warwick Avenue until 6 June 1915. The station building was designed by Stanley Heaps in a modified version of the earlier Leslie Green designed Bakerloo line stations with glazed terra cotta façades but without the large semi-circular windows at first floor level. It was one of the first London Underground stations built specifically to use escalators rather than lifts.

A nice underground station that is served by the bakerloo line there is stairs and escalators to the platforms no lifts at this station. The station building outside is very pretty inside the old ticket offices are now know as tiny parks which has plants inside of them. The ticket hall area is a average size the station was clean and not to busy.
Completed during WW, Grade II Listed and still retaining much original fabric including a domed glass roof and distinctive ‘ox-blood’ glazed facade. Original ticket windows converted into attractive plant displays. Admirable but could do with a lick of paint to bring it up to scratch.
This station is one of the most wonderful one raking all the underground station's architecture. It still conserves the traditional mosaics and signs, and makes you travel in time when yo stare at it from outside.
This beautiful local station, with escalators, served by the Bakerloo Line taking you back and forth across this great city. In the morning rush hour there is classical music booming the station speakers... It try feel local and ancient. Obviously there are station staff, helpful indeed, and there are automated ticket machines. The area around it is not particularly a tourist hot spot, but it doesn't have to be.
The station has a very nice atmosphere around it with a pleasant decor inside both the ticket hall and on the platforms as well. Not to mention the beautiful design of the station building and facia. I would of given this 5 stars but it lacks a lift, thus reducing ease of accessibility. On the plus side its just one escalator up to the surface with very little walking needed before you reach the exit.
Beautifull architecture style, Most of the time as great service and not much delays. Runs the Bakerloo line, easy access to Oxford Circus and Baker Street and Regents Park. Have both escalators and normal stairs. Doesn’t have a lift. Really warm inside even on the winter, terrible hot on the summer!
Over 100-year-old station that plays classical music in the evenings : there is no ticket office any longer but 2 ticket machines seem to be sufficient as it's not a very busy station
Station not to busy at most times has great links to busses across the road and the only problem is it is not wheelchair accessible but it does has escalators and stairs
Underground station from 1915 for the Bakerloo line only, between Queen's Park and Maida Vale stations Zone 2. Consistently there is classical music in the evenings, which makes it very pleasant. There is also a drugstore in the building.
Approximately 7:55am today 27/07/19 I was doing my usual route to work until i stumbled across a VERY RUDE member of staff, a lady supervisor, who i will eventually find out the name of, and she immediately pointed in the direction of the notice board and said “ NO. Can’t you see? No access. You NEED to Listen to what my colleague is saying...” her colleague seemed to be telling a group of people that the station is closed and the Bakerloo line is suffering from delays, i noticed this AFTER i was told by her. The fact she was so rude and demanding was so unprofessional and ruined my whole day. I do not walk into train stations and listen to other people’s conversations hence why I didn't know that her colleague was just telling people that there isn’t access. Im CERTAIN that she would not speak to me like that if her manager was nearby. I am disgusted and will find out her name and speak with TFL regarding this. After telling her about her politeness and how I felt, i walked out unhappy yet calm and collective and looked back out of instinct ONLY to notice her nodding her head from left to right. Not good.
