I have been using this train station to get the thameslink to school for the past 5 years - and its hard to not fall for its charms. The bridge to the platforms is an impressive entrance and a tricky challenge if your train is already on the platform. There are birds nests under the coverings which is endearing and on cold mornings the sun shines in beams across the platforms, a charming atmosphere. The station itself has its issues and its 2 year renovation would have actually made for a nice change in being able to avoid the grimy station, if it weren't for the lack of top up machines, but its fixed now so i have to go through it and the boring, slightly grimy main area dampens my mornings.
Kentish Town Station is served by the Northern line which go towards Morden and High Barnet and is also served by Thameslink trains which go towards Luton and Sutton. Currently at the time of this review posted the Northern line Station is closed for refurbishment. The National rail part of the station has four platforms with stairs only there is no disabled access at all here. It's a very basic train station that has no ticket barriers here.
It’s a great station that takes you to Hampstead and central London very quick.I recommend to use this station
CLEAN TIDY. I WILL START LOOKING DUD THERE IS TOILET, IS IT LOCKED???? IF IS NOT TOILET, WHY NOT??? THIS IS OUR RIGHT TO PEE. REALLY I PLANING TO DO PETITIONS, THAT IN 21 CENTURE, LONDON THE FACE OF THE WORLD NO TOILETS!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT.....SOME TOILETS STING , SOME ARE LOCKED, WHY?????? DID THE CRIMINALS ARE STRONGER THEN THE PUBLIC?????nI WANT TOILETS IN EVERY STATION IN UK.nHOW OLD PEOPLE MOVING, HOW DISABLES MOVING AND KIDS WITH THEIR PARENTS IF NOT TOILET. REMEMBER MY NAME I WILL CHANGE THIS WITH DEMOCRATIC TOOLS IN THE NAME OF BRITAIN'S PUBLIC!!!!
Been to Kentish town yesterday to see what the northern line looks like after its 18 month closure & refurb. The escalators the reason why Kentish town even closed definitely looked and felt like they were replaced. Most of the station is very clean and they added new ticket gates to the northern line.nnAlso for some reason the Thameslink platforms are closed until the 29th December.nnOverall, not as major as the Colindale upgrade, but nice that the northern line goes to Kentish town again!
