Kennington park is lovely in the summer. Many different areas, place to eat at restaurant, and English style flower garden is a must see with beautiful flowers everywhere
I do not understand why the trains on the northern line cannot go both ways via bank and charging cross and why people always need to change FROM NORTHERN LINE TO NORTHERN LINE?! Thanks God the change is just across the platform but I know the trains can go both of the routes and they just make people suffer and change all the time if not in the peak times where they charge more money because of the time of the day. The station itself is in the horrible condition - walls are dirty with mold, plaster and paint coming off and flooded rails…… and mice and horrible signage as typical for the tube here
Sorry, I'm not impressed with the Tube. At least not this Northern line. The trains are very bouncy. The platforms aren't level with the train and require you to step up to the train. Also you tons of stairs and no escalators.
Forewarning that some trains terminate at Kennington so make sure to read where the train is heading first, which is located at the front of the train. This station is key infrastructure to the Underground. Connecting central London, via the Northern line, to the USA embassy with the two station extension at Kennington. Taking passengers to most importantly Nine Elms, but also Battersea Power Station. Please note you may need to switch trains at this station for the two station extension to Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station. Overall, a very calm station that isn't too busy.
Classic London station which could use some TLC but does what it says on the tin.
Kennington is a place combined with green spaces, museums, and residential properties from different periods of colourful and diverse culture from around the world. It is a place to be loved and find different ways of enjoying life with parties and also amazing choices of cuisines from around the globe.
Small but surprisingly busy! It currently serves as the terminus for the southern section of the northbound city branch line between Kennington and Moorgate services are suspended due to essential maintenence works until summer 2022. There is no curtailment on the charing cross line section. The station connects the line to the new Northern Line extension serving stations to Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station trains running every approximately 12 minutes the station there is not a ticket office but the station is manned by TFL staff with 2 cash and banknotes ticket machines on site there is also a photograph Booth machine. Platforms are partly accessed via two synchronised lifts with an emergency access spiral staircase if you dare to climb it! Unfortunately the lifts or spiral staircase do not go to platform level, a small flight of stairs leading to the platforms prevents this station being step-free and/or wheelchair friendly.
Just took my Disabled friend with his luggage and my 2 dogs down to the station and asked if I could be let through to take him down to the platform as I had done previously without any problem. In fact, previously the staff had suggested that I go down with him. Unfortunately on this occasion I was refused point blank by a large unfriendly woman who was more intent on sitting in the booth than actually getting out and assisting customers such as my Disabled friend and I who are both Disabled. Unfortunately I did not have my Disabled Freedom Pass on me at the time as I had not taken my wallet with me based on previous experience where it was not required. A bit of common sense and customer service training wouldn’t go astray for such staff at a station which I have been using regularly since I moved to Kennington in 1995.
This underground station is not wheelchair accessible yet they keep updating to say it is leaving people stranded
Nothen line station with 4 platforms. You can go to Modern, Battersea Park Station, High Barnet and Edware! Very comfortable to get central London as there 2 branches Bank and Charing Cross.
