This was probably the cleanest and my favourite underground station in London. Generally quiet. The only downside is it doesn’t have step free access.
What a magnificent art deco building! From the outside has a real wow factor. According to some blurb inside, it was considered Londons 1st skyscraper when built 15 stories. Made me think a little of Langs Metropolis. Shame so many of the retail outlets on the street level are empty, which makes it a bit sad. But the exterior is stunning. Would love to see some of the internal decor of the upper floors.
Enjoyed my walk around the park - the borders are looking beautiful and the pelicans were mingling withe visitors in the sunshine.
A station for London Underground Limited & locals but it is the tourists that rule here! From around the UK and from all over the world people find themselves passing through this station on the way to some sightseeing in London South West One. I thought I would show some love see photo to my local underground station that lies at the base of this listed building.
Built in 1868, although it has been rebuilt twice since then. Serves a lot of government buildings and what used to be the passport office in Petty France.
It is served by the District and Circle lines. St. James's park doesn't have step-free access, unfortunately. Best to get off at Westminster The St. James's Park station is accessible through the District and Circle lines. It is unfortunate that there is no step-free access available at this station. Therefore, it is best to get off at Westminster station, which has all the necessary amenities. It's worth noting that there are two entrances, but one of them is always closed on weekends. Additionally, the station may shut down earlier than usual at times. that has all the amenities. There are two entrance one always close in the weekends and the station shuts earlier sometimes.
St.james Park. It's like a historic place really .. Back in 1600-1800 . This was classed as the entrance to the city. The outer surrounding areas were all wild forest and woodlands. Beautiful historic buildings near by . Great place for tourists to enjoy and look around and get a feel of history strutton ground market is also a 1 min walk from the St.James' Underground Station.
The grass was a beautiful shade of green as were some of the tourist. The concrete walkway was an absolute delight to skip along on. The mud was an exquisite shade of mocha. The trees were grand and allowed one to temporarily forget that dogs use them as latrines. All in all, a very pleasant experience indeed.
Excellent park to go for a walk, either on the way to some other tourist attraction or if you need to share some secrets with others. Also a great place to go and sit on a bench and wait for people to come up to you and tell you things. Top tip: introduce yourself with a code name and people will share more interesting things. Ducks are great for conversation too. 10/10 would visit again. Also has free public restrooms!
If you are travelling or have accessibility issues don’t go via this station. Had to lug our bags up 2 flights of stairs.
