Very nice little cinema, cozy and good to bring the kids. They had great hot chocolate and popcorn was better than the larger chains who don't care at all about the flavour or consistency of popcorn.nThe screen was a bit small but the seats seemed refurbished and good quality.
The nicest cinema across the board. It's glamorous, retro and charming. Imagine I'm Goldilocks if you will. This one is just right.. The Curzon being too home cinemary and don't get my started on their ferocious aircon Cineworld too large in screen size in proportion to seating arrangement.nnWent to see NT play The Fifth Step. Perfect play in a perfect setting. Cinemas need to realise these plays must be shown in intimate screens to simulate being in the Theatre it was originally staged. The recording if the actors aren't miked up because it was staged in the centre of it's audience, is the authentic atmospheric volume from that very theatre. Therefore acoustics dependable.nnWatching Mrs Warren's Profession last month at a cinema that shall remain nameless in Screen One was distressful. I had to really concentrate to hear every line apart from when actors were venting. The fact that I was up high in a very inclined auditorium and the play recorded down low at stall level was so mentally disorientating. Felt like I had bad balcony seats at the Albert Hall!
Went to see Downton Abbey final film here in the afternoon. Staff very friendly and cost amazing - 2 of us went for less then 1 person at Cineworld. Comfortable seats and spotlessly clean. Recommended.
Went to see Wicked or tried to watch Wicked, people constantly up and down continuous rustling sweet bags people talking, had to leave was doing my head in. The cinema itself and staff are great comfy seats plenty of leg room great prices. Can we just bring the intermission break so all the sweet rappers and chat are done in the old intermission time slot.
Absolutely phenomenal little independant cinema, two screens, great price, well kept, traditional cinema. Regular staff who are absolutely lovely! Great asset to have locally and we love to support.
