Curzon Canterbury
"Characterful and meticulously designed, Curzon Canterbury perfectly matches the historical city it resides in. The cinema, which is located just off the high street, was once a local community hall and continues to warmly welcome the public. Its cosy, comfortable lobby has an extensive library for those who want to flick through a book before or after their film – as well as a piano our guests are encouraged to play – and the screens themselves are similarly inviting."

Great service and ambience. Love the indie feeling the cinema offers. The food is great too. They offer some vegan options. We love the vegan hot dog. Pretty tasty. It is a small cinema so it doesn't always have much to see and some days are more quiet, unfortunately.
Went to watch a marvel movie and ticket prices were £5 as a member. You get a pretty stiff chair and it squeaks when you move. Also forgot to turn the lights off in our theater which affected the movie colors/atmosphere. The food and snacks were movie theatre price so I would recommend bringing your own! It definitely worth it if you are looking for any easy way to watch a movie.
Small, traditional cinema, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Lobby area very relaxing with soft chairs, books and coffee tables. Have dropped a star because it is a fair bit more expensive than other cinemas and, if you have to park a car in Canterbury city centre it ramps up the price. We park outside the city and walk in. Also seats on the far ends of the rows were at a slight angle to the screen, so I would move nearer to the centre next time.
This place is beautiful and cosy! Personally, I prefer it over those big and noisy cinemas. The staff is very friendly and helpful and food, snacks and wine were great! Definitely coming back! Just as feedback, the chairs were comfy but a bit squeaky so hopefully you can fix that to make the experience 100% enjoyable.
Tickets and bar are on the expensive side but you pay the price for good cinema conditions. However, the reason for the 1 star is because of a particular staff practice. I always purchase my ticket about 1h before the film, from the cinema, and then I just stroll around town and come back for the screening. I don’t normally get anything from the bar so ticket in hand I head directly for the screening room. Twice now I had staff members shouting after me from behind the bar, or running after me as though I’m some sort of thief, to show them my ticket. It made me very uncomfortable and really embarrassed to be shouted at/chased like that. It’s really not the treatment I would expect at a cinema where I just payed 13£ per ticket. I purchased my ticket from the bar only a bit earlier, I don’t want a drink or a snack, why would I go to the bar again to show my ticket? If the venue really wants to be so rigorous in checking tickets, then a staff member should be positioned at the entrance of screening rooms. When several people are gathered around the lounge, you can’t even tell who staff members are shouting for. It’s such a rude, counter-intuitive practice that really just shows the lack of a basic understanding of customer behaviour. Curzon has a monopoly on Canterbury, but it is in the same precarious position as any other exhibitor so it should strive to provide a better cinema experience for customers, not put them on the edge right before the movie.
I LOVE this cinema. Really comfortable seats and you can buy and bring a glass of wine in with you, while watching the film. THIS is how cinema's can get people back from watching Netflix and Disney+ at home.
Love this cinema its local to me so not far to go. Has three screen's nice place to go to. I wish was bit cheaper so could go more. And wish show more films bit limited what show.
Excellent experience. The Westgate staff went above and beyond to help rectify a booking complication. Many thanks to the staff. A very enjoyable setting, a definite must visit place! Great location, fantastic facilities, stylish decor. We will definitely visit again.
Extremely wet Tuesday afternoon is a great reason to be in the cosy environs of this Curzon! Lovely staff, good coffee & varied film choice. Really hope the opening of Curzon Riverside does not have a negative impact.
Nice looking little cinema, the entrance looks cozy with all those books beside the tables, which are real by the way. Friendly staff at the bar downstairs, food and drinks are allowed inside. I had fun watching a film there and would recommend the place.
