Wonderful. Nostalgic. Reasonably priced. Great staff, lovely atmosphere and warm in the winter! I am now addicted to the place and the faversham film society. Use it don't lose it!

Great place. Cheap entry and snacks and very nice friendly staff. So much better than the rip off multi cinema chains. Recommended.

The Royal is a regal old bird. It's quite simply astonishing. The tickets are £5. Let that sink in. A fiver. You'd spend that in petrol just to get to the multiplex. Once inside you get a proper old fashioned experience with proper modern technology. The tickets are sold in a box office and they are the old raffle-ticket types: did I mention that they are only £5?. Then you move to the popcorn vendor. It's a quid. That's right, £1 for popcorn. How much is popcorn in the rip-off multiplex? Well you need a credit card to buy popcorn for your family in the multiplex, or a second mortgage. Then you go to the theatre. It's bigger than a blooming aircraft hanger!. The screen is huge! The screen seems bigger than some of the smaller screens in the multiplexes in Ashford. The seats are fine, possibly slightly less comfy than my arm chair at home, but absolutely fine. The sound is great, the visuals are excellent. There's even a curtain in front of the screen. And when you leave, the staff all line up, stand to attention and say "Good night, thank you for coming". Now that is astonishing: let that sink in: the staff actually thank you for coming and wish you good night. You just don't get that anywhere else. All this for a fiver. Well maybe £6 if you buy the popcorn. The only thing it lacks is a live piano. Well, I suppose it does not have 3D but really ... who really wants to see 3D? Use this cinema, it's local, it's astonishing value, the staff thank you for visiting and the experience is equivalent to the multiplex at bargain prices. On second thoughts, please don't and leave the seats empty for me.

Single screen cinema, charming old style decor. It is comfortable with refurbished seating, modern projection and sound, large screen. Friendly staff and all films only £5. Toilets could do with an update but they are functional and clean.
