Story

The Joshua Tree is a small family run delightful fully licensed Cafe & Bistro. Located in the Cumbrian market town of Kendal, known as the gateway to the Lake District. We are nestled in one of Kendal’s oldest yards within a traditional 17th century building with rustic exposed beams & a cosy open log fire. You can expect a warm and friendly welcome from Shelley & Nick and their team with an informal, relaxed atmosphere you'll struggle to drag yourself away. When the sun shines we have a lovely sunny courtyard to catch those summer rays but if the rain pours our open log fire inside is perfect to cosy up to.

All our food is freshly prepared, handmade by us and locally sourced. We are passionate about producing good wholesome Food cooked just the way you like it.

Café bistro by day, serving hearty breakfasts, hot and cold lunches with delicious daily specials making the most of local seasonal produce.

Good attentive service. First class food. Very clean everywhere.
Stumbled upon this lovely place on our first trip to Kendal. Such welcoming staff that really went above and beyond for us, when our little boy was sad they had no apple juice. Breakfast was delicious and I wouldnt hesitate to return if we visited Kendal again. Thanks for having us!

Homely little cafe. Deliciously creamy quiche
Yesterday we went for breakfast and coffee and it was absolutely lovely. Staff really friendly and even offered dairy alternatives as 1 of us was lactose free. Would recommend this place as nothing is too much trouble, food is amazing and so clean.
