We have a wide range of different bikes in-store, including road, mountain, hybrids, electric and more - plus accessories and clothing, too! Our experienced staff are always happy to help whether you are new to cycling or looking at your latest and greatest new bike. We have a fully-equipped workshop capable of handing all types of repair, including the specialist servicing required for Brompton and electric bikes."

Amazing experience, amazing team-experts, we came there to have a second opinion on a bike that on the store that we bough and was assembled informed us that the bike had to be scrapped, as the frame got damaged. After being checked by a very kind member of the engineers at John Atkins he informed that need a new bolt and a nut, and the problem was that the bike was not the proper torsion in the bolts when it was assembled. For sure when I bought a second bike I came back to John Atkins team to get it assembled, and has been great since then! Best place to go

Very helpful with problems, awesomeand super friendly staff. Excellent depth of knowledge about their job which is always a bonus. Would highly reccomend as your go to local bike shop. They keep good contact with you as your bike is being serviced and double check with you before they do any works. The price was very affordable too. I highly recommend these guys, they're legends.
Stellar shop, fantastic friendly staff! I was told by a different bike shop, after experiencing shifting issues on my road bike, that I needed a new cassette, chain, derailleur, and dropout hanger after my bike took a spill. A bill that would have amounted to over £500. Now, I’m not the most experienced bike mechanic myself, but I know my bike very well and was suspicious of this assessment. So a second opinion and diagnosis from the staff at John Atkins confirmed that all this was total rubbish and all I needed was a new bottom bracket, a straightened dropout hanger, a gear tune-up, and a new chain. Saved me a load of money and they did it so quickly! Around a hours work, and I’m back on my bike. Seriously the best experience I’ve ever had from a bike shop. It now shifts cleanly and smoothly again with no grinding from the BB. From the service provided and the additional advice given, they will now become my preferred shopping and service destination for any future work that needs doing. Thank you so much for all your great work. Seriously talented and well worth a visit, above and beyond!

Was just passing by looking for advice about a wheel axel... Ended up having a laugh and walking out with some gear cables and housing for them for a really great price! Great customer service
Nipped in today to have my rear wheel alignment checked. This was my first time in the shop and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to inspect my wheel there and then and with a little true up and a reseat of the tyre we were running true again. Will be using as my local cycle store of choice from now on. Many thanks.
John Atkins are the worst shop in town, don’t waste your time or money there. Personally I would recommend the nicer shops at the top of town instead, even Halfords would be better. I’m not the only customer who’s been ripped off and had a bad experience with the service, there only seems to be one half decent employee left and he looked exhausted, I think its always good to try support the local bike shop so I gave them one last chance as a loyal customer for over a decade, after reading the previous reviews thought it would of been better, only to get messed about again, I have definitely been over charged for extra services I didn’t ask for in the past. Never got a refund. Basically robbing customers. The last time I was in the shop… the fact they were trying to fit someone to a new road bike, while the rear wheel was inches off the ground says it all. It was painful to see that level of incompetence, or they try offer me left over used parts for full price…? I can’t trust them to work on my bike if they don’t know what there doing I was actually offered a job there years ago when my preferred bike mechanic resigned, but I didn’t want to work there either, because of the uncomfortable patronising attitude from the old mechanic, It’s not a good environment for someone struggling with any form of anxiety, I don’t even feel comfortable going in and asking them to borrow a pump, because I’d probably have to wait a few minutes outside first, think I’ll just go to another shop next time Joe
The guys at John Atkins are always ready to help and very knowledgeable. Such a bonus to have an independent retailer like this in town - use it or lose it.
Excellent service from Gary, the "new" mechanic, but only to be expected as he had done some work for me previously before joining the team at John Atkins. The problem was diagnosed on the spot, the work completed the same day with the part in stock, and the bike delivered to my home that evening ready for a club ride the next day. Can thoroughly recommend their services.
