Story

Jesshops third generation bakers have been using traditional baking methods to produce breads, bread puddings and cakes at Newington Green Road bakery since 1923.

The bakery was originally established by Thomas Edward Jesshops on the corner of Mildmay Street and Newington Green Road and was destroyed by a German doodle bug.

The bakery relocated in 1948 to 137 Newington Green Road. Ever since the bakery has been producing baked goods for the people of Islington.

Unfortunately not a good choice of products. And the breads/croissants that I did buy tasted awful. Its a shame with the only bakery around but I'd rather go to tesco to get croissants.

I go there everyday, Jenny and Paulina are lovely and serve good, honest food. Need more variety of sandwich fillings but nice selection of cakes.

Great range of baked goods. Pop in for fresh bread and cakes

The staff are Intellectually challenged and the food isn't baked on the premises.

They have had the best bread pudding for over fifty years

FAntastic coffee and  friendly staff

Went for an early morning coffee. Staff were very friendly but the coffee was pretty bad.
