The bakery was originally established by Thomas Edward Jesshops on the corner of Mildmay Street and Newington Green Road and was destroyed by a German doodle bug.
The bakery relocated in 1948 to 137 Newington Green Road. Ever since the bakery has been producing baked goods for the people of Islington.
