Serving upscale Indian dishes from its sophisticated location inside The Arcadian on Digbeth’s Hurst Street, James Dahl Indian is a dining destination that will change the way you look at Indian cuisine. Utilising all-natural ingredients, seasonal produce and healthy cooking techniques, James Dahl Indian offers dishes that are light and fresh, a stark contrast to the usual heavy, albeit delicious, specialities we’ve come to associate with the Indian kitchen.

Despite a very recent opening (2016), James Dahl Restaurant is already a huge success winning an accolade in the 'English Curry Awards,' so be sure to book in advance to secure a table.

Absolutely beautiful food and lovely cocktails. Food was very well presented and the right amount of spice/flavouring. Husband had the lamb railway curry and was the best curry he has had the depth in flavour was out of this world. Nann bread was fluffy and again full of flavour. Would recommend to anyone. A wonderful Indian restaurant in the heart of the Chinese Quarter in Birmingham. The food is absolutely sensational. Every dish had a unique taste, it was evident that everything was freshly made. One of the best Indians I've had in a long time. Flavourful dishes with plentiful meat. We also saw staff give food to a homeless person at the door. It was lovely to see such kind staff, who looked after us so well too. The service was excellent. We were well looked after all evening and our evening was so special given we came for a birthday. Thank you for a wonderful evening. If we are ever in the area again, we would come back in a heartbeat!

Welcoming, friendly and attentive staff. Been here numerous times and highly recommended as a hidden gem, especially pre theatre dinner. Really delicious food. Really authentic and full of flavours. Reasonably priced and nice portion size too.
