I was there on Wednesday lunchtime and there was plenty of room, no crush. It's reasonably priced. I think it would be nice if they included a decent vegetarian option. It seems to cater more for older people. The food was 'home-style' but nice. Nothing very exciting but edible.
Great location. 10 minutes from Dublin airport, beach is across the street, and only about a 20 minute drive from downtown Dublin. Friendly staff and the on site restraunts/ bar are great. Other than that it’s sub par. Room is dated, bed is terribly uncomfortable, and has a strange odor to the room. If you’re looking for a good priced place to stay with a bed and a roof over your head then it’s the place for you, but if you care about the little things then look elsewhere.
Friendly from start to finish. Professional and personal. Rooms, restaurant and bar traditionally spot on. Well run and welcoming with views of estuary and island. Easy by car from city and airport. As I'm lazy, bus from airport. DART to city is straightforward. Malahide and the hotel provide good evening food. The hotel bar is excellent to swap stories before a comfortable bed. The excellent breakfasts are skilfully cooked to order. No overheated nor horribly lit buffet trays. Am glad that one can relax in such a good place.***
Great stay first night and time in Dublin. It is a short drive from the airport and we had a fantastic stay, It was a really nice way to ease into our vacation. Great view of the bay. Nice and clean room. Very friendly and helpful with arranging a cab and holding our luggage. Down-to-earth very nice people. In the evening a nice stroll into town, and city center. In the morning had a wonderful introduction to a full Irish breakfast wow! Fresh, hot, delicious with the view of the bay. Great value highly recommend it. BTW: Malahide is very nice upper area so felt really safe. Cannot wait to go back.
The location was good and the room clean but the place is in need of updating. Lucky we had to rise early for a flight otherwise the trash truck to the dumpster at 7am right outside our window would have been even less pleasant.Rooms: 3/5
Great food in restaurant. Not all rooms overlook the sea and island so make sure you ask for this. The room we had had no view and needed some TLC and a good dusting. Beautiful location.
Meals were first class. I would have liked the bedroom to be Hoover better at the window. Staff were all very helpful. I enjoyed my time there.
Simple but functional decor however the wonderful customer service particularly from the manager Ronan who always went the extra mile to ensure we had a tremendous stay gives the hotel an all round well deserved five stars.
Went with a group, most meals really nice but one salad was horrible. Mayonaise piled on, food chopped up in s pile, chicked meat was from thighs and legs. One group had no vegetables which were paid for. When asked, the waitress took some from another table.
We stayed four nights. The hotel is old and rather worn. Not really worth the money. After a long daytrip to the Cliffs of Moher we came back ten past nine and tried to order a sandwich but the kitchen closes at nine was the answer. But the most sorryful experience was the breakfast. One of the ladies that serve breakfast was very unfriendly and bully around with the guests. We have relatives in Malahide and next time we come to visit, för sure are we making our reservation in another hotel.
