Only passed through whilst walking the West Highland Way, but nipped in to dry my feet, recharge electronics, and grab some much needed tea. Staff were wonderfully accommodating for someone who had clearly been in Scottish weather the whole morning, and they didn't bat an eye at my wet coat and rucksack. Had a lovely chat with the bar staff and settled in with a cup of tea. Walkability: Accessible on the West Highland Way Noteworthy details: Large wet room at the entrance, which is great for hikers.
Lovely location, but had been told that food would be available for walkers here is listed in most guidebooks of the west highland way. However they were only serving drinks crisps and plain and very dry scones and chocolate. Not the staff’s fault but if you are expecting to be able to eat here as a walker you can’tLocation: 5/5
After a night of wild camping on the West Highland Way, we set out early and were looking forward to a hot meal here. There is a thoughtful area for workers to warm up, dry some kit and have a sit down but unbelievably there is no hot food. Very limited supply of cakes I can't comment on the quality as they are not served until the hotel residents breakfast is finished so we had to make do with an instant coffee and a bag of crisps. Got my monies worth out of their electricity by charging every device I brought with me and I made spectacular use of their toilets! Can't help but feel this is a huge missed opportunity on their part. We would've happily spent the best part of £15 each on some hot food and decent coffees multiplied by however many walkers pass through each day.
A lovely hotel that provides services for walkers including indoor tables. BUT beware, as others have said there is no food available until 6pm other than crisps from the bar, so don't count on it for lunch.Service: 5/5
Beautiful location, tranquil, narrow road access. Lovely waterfall. Great stop off point for walkers. We didn't stay at the hotel but stopped off for a quick snack and drink. The tea was terrible and the very limited supply of cakes, simply awful. To call it off the service from the bar area, which theoretically should be a great meeting point for walkers and visitors alike was shocking. I believe his name was "Luci"? He was so unfriendly and hostile. It must be a great hospitality opportunity missed. Potentially it could be a little goldmine. Nevertheless still worth a visit due to the spectacular views of Loch Lomond. PS - maybe bring your own snacks / drinks.
Owned by Lochs and Glens stayed whilst on a trip to Scotland with them the standard I would say is 3* clean staff very accommodating food is adequate, possibly a little on bland side breakfast is the best, evening meal a little basic, what you get is pleasant considering it is geared for Lochs and Glens coach tours, which is excellent value for money, highly recommended. It is certainly off the beaten track in the Inversnaid National Park, walkers walking pass call in for snacks and drink but mainly caters for people who book trips from all over the country. Definitely recommend
Lovely hotel, very short of staff but the ones they did have tried their best. The waterfall went from a slight trickle to a full blown torrent due to the weather, it was spectacular and loud! Our poor coach driver had to drive back and forth almost every day due to small ferry being unable to dock as it was windy. Lovely view from bedroom window which was spectacular when the clouds lifted
Lovely hotel food and staff friendly and efficient, but sorry t say its in the middle of now where, too much travelling to get anywhere els, unless you have your own transport, the scenery was out of this world we could sit and look at it all day. An hotel for a night are two then moving o xRooms: 4/5
Very unfriendly place for hikers which is absurd, since it's right on the west highland way...you feel treated like a dog with a backdoor entrance for you, no real meals available for you just snacks reclutantly handed to you very poshy and upper class environment looking at you like you are a zoo animal. Only unoleasant stop I had all along the whw
Spent a lovely week there, food was good and plentiful, Staff friendly and willing to help. View from lounge amazing. Plenty of stairs though.Rooms: 5/5
