Well appointed hotel but I experienced continuous noise from neighbouring rooms throughout my stay stomping, doors slamming etc. This lack of soundproofing renders the hotel unsuitable for long stays. Also I’m not sure if it was me doing something wrong but I couldn’t get any heating in my room, which isn’t ideal in November. Can’t fault the reception or housekeeping staff.
I proposed to my girlfriend during our first vacation in Gatwick, and the experience at the Ibis Gatwick Airport was exceptional. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and Maya especially went the extra mile to make the day unforgettable. She arranged for a makeup artist and coordinated with the team to set up our room beautifully while my partner and I were out for “breakfast” in London. My girlfriend absolutely loved it!nnThe warm reception and effort from the entire team made our stay truly special. I will definitely return to the Ibis Gatwick Airport in the future.
Everything is really new, bright and modern. The breakfast was decent and the room and bed comfortable. There’s a shuttle bus to the airport. My only complaint was the lighting is very very bright!
Good location, parking is a little tight. Ground floor and reception well presented. Staff, well checking in was a drawn out affair. The lady on the reception. Wanted to sign me up for a loyalty scheme. Which I had no wish to do. But after keeping me there far longer than I wanted to. And getting the hard sell off of her. I eventually caved in and joined the loyalty scheme. Then it took so long to give her my details. As she didn't have a clue how to enter them on the system. I was clearly losing the will to live. After 20 minutes or so. She gave up and said she would do it with me later not bloody likely. I got my key and went to my room. On entering my room. Was a little snug. But clean and modern looking. Everything in the bathroom worked. I went downstairs for my evening meal. What a reasonable menu. Most hotels only want to cook pizza and burgers. But got steak and chips. Lovely size meal as well. It was well cooked and presented. No complaints here. However, on this occasion. I decided to have a pint to wash it down. I ordered a Guinness. But straight away I noticed all was not well. I brought this to the attention of the barman. Who tried to give me some old blarney about it being the glass at fault. And poured me another. Which was as off as the first. After changing the barrel as I suggested. Everything in the world was good again. Had a lovely nights sleep. And woke for my breakfast. Sausage not very good. Over cooked and tough. Bacon, surprising bang on. No tomatoes, rubbery mushrooms. Scrambled egg's were both rubbery and under cooked in the same dish. Hash browns way over cooked. And no, I'll say again. No black pudding! I hope the management read this and make a few changes. As I could see myself staying here again
Convenient place located close to the airport. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Jennifer was very enthusiastic about her job which is good to see nowadays.
