Great tour of the Houses of Lords and Commons. Full access to both Chambers and the Palace of Westminster. Booked the tour online and enjoy a full morning exploring this iconic building. Unfortunately no photography allowed in the Chambers.
Loved it as well the most amazing place in whole Parliament. Everything red reminds you of royal family. And especially the throne with all those golden bits on it so beautiful, amazing and interesting. The only few rules is no running around obvs no shouting and the most interesting in opinion you’re not allowed to seat down on any of the seats because they’re only for special members of Parliament not very nice but I can understand go there if you get a chance to
Usher was very rude. Insisted on following me down the stairs after my visit. Wouldn't let me look at pictures en route. Didn't have order of Business for today. Extremely rude.not suitable for a job of meeting visitors who wish to learn. Irish secondary teacher on visit. Other staff were lovely friendly and helpful. She really ruined my visit. Felt discriminated against as Irish.
***** stars for Leaders of Great Britain!
Great site of historic and current significance. Lots to see on the full tour but we only did the drinks & lunch in the Lords dining room. Amazing art works all round. Great pieces of architectural and sculptural history dotted around the building. Great drinks and food menu. A really enjoyable experience.
I attended an event here. I must say, all the staff were extremely friendly. Really great experience. Food at the event afternoon tea was so nice. Gift shop also lovely
No one will probably not be overwhelmed by the vastness of the 274-meter-long Capitol the moment they exit from Westerminster Station or cross the Westerminster Bridge. Britain is bicameral. There are 500 life-long aristocrats, 92 hereditary members, 26 Anglican members of the House of Lords change of composition since 2007 and equivalent elected members of the House of Representatives. Since it's an elected office, the House of Representatives has a lot of power compared to the Senate. So all legislation is approved by the House.
And what makes dem gwan so? POWER! POWER! POWER! But no matter what games they play, we've got something they can never take away and it's the FIRE! it's the FIRE, that's burning down everyday!
Great place to discuss politics while drinking free wine. Some very good networking
I like the upper house, but The House of Lords is far to large to be taken seriously with its 800 unelected people, the size should be reduced by at least 100, the lords do a okay job they are just to big, They do quite a good job and there is definitely no enthusiasm for an elected house to replace the House of Lords, It would lead to more and more elected politicians, if more politicians is the answer to a question then it’s the wrong question, a elected would also cause a rivalry with the House of Commons and that would be ridiculous.
