Lovely clean guest house, perfectly situated only 5 minutes walk from the main street and its shops, cafes and theatre. Very nicely cooked breakfast and very welcoming hosts. Would definitely stay again.Rooms: 5/5
Fantastic little b&b close to the centre of Barnard Castle. The Italian owners were lovely and welcoming, giving us a slice of home made apple cake when we arrived tired after a long walk. Then the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a b&b!Rooms: 5/5
We stayed at this lovely guest house for four nights in mid May and what a joy it was. Glenda made us feel so welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. We stayed in the Garden Room and it was an idyllic spot at the bottom of a lovely garden. This was our last stop on a two week tour and we couldn't have picked a nicer place to finish. Barnard castle is a lovely little town with lots to see and plenty of places to eat but we chose to have our evening meals at Homeland and we enjoyed every one of their traditional Italian meals. Daniele and Glenda tweaked the menu a little to suit my wifes dietary requirements and couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast was outstanding and our hosts were very attentive. After dinner on our last evening we let slip that the trip was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and the next morning when we were leaving Glenda and Daniele presented us with a lovely very personal gift, which we found really touching. There is parking right outside the house which is just on the edge of the town centre and it's just a five minute walk to get into the middle of things. I strongly recommend Homelands guest house as a perfect base whilst staying in Barnard Castle.

Stayed for a couple of nights while visiting family. Smallish but comfortable room. The owner was very accommodating and quickly responded to all my questions. Breakfast has a variety of choices, and the two that I had were great especially the eggs Benedict are a must. I came with high expectations from all the reviews, and they were more than met.

Without doubt 5 star experience. We stayed 2 nights in idyllic garden room. Glenda and Daniele are perfect hosts and very helpful. Breakfasts were exceptional. Would not hesitate to recommend and more than happy to return.Rooms: 5/5
Welcomed by friendly hosts who were easy company. We stayed in The Garden Room, which is separate to the house and very peaceful and comfortable, with its own access into the town. Hosts and accommodation were perfect. Attention to detail and cleanliness faultless. We stayed here on our Wedding night and Glenda and Daniele ensured that everything was just right. We stayed for one night this week in the "garden Room" after checking past reviews thought why not, the garden Room smelt a little foisty, it was fairly clean and comfortable apart from the bathroom where the sealant around the bath was a bit grubby, the bath mat was not very clean and the toilet brush was filthy, when I showered a puddle appeared in the corner at the side of the bath ?? The breakfast was rather nice though, overall it wasn't a brilliant visit and I'm astounded as to why some folk gave it 5/5.
