Absolutely appalling store in Hove! I went in earlier yesterday to buy a replacement tumble dryer vent hose, I am partially sighted and therefore needed some assistance finding it, I asked a young female assistant (who looked about 16) at the checkout where it was and explained about my sight problem, she looked puzzled and replied "Erm dunno, what is it? might be over there in electrical." Feeling disgusted at her very uninterested, unknowable attitude I walked around the store trying to find the electrical's section, finally without much success due to my sight I stopped a male assistant who very abruptly said they didn't sell them, but when I tried to explain that their website has them advertised as for sale and in stock he just smirked at me, shrugged and walked off. Eventually a lovely gentleman customer who obviously saw my frustration asked if he could assist me? He found what I was looking for almost instantly and walked me to the checkout. The young girl there was so impolite and didn't even offer me a bag or say please or thank you, manners cost nothing, I will never ever shop in there again, total utter rubbish and if I could give no stars I certainly would.

Called in for picture hooks for daughter's new flat. Plenty of choice. Also pot of nice hyacinths.

Good place, I find what I need most of the time, there has been a couple of occasions when I didn't, reading other reviews it looks like the local Hove store has upgraded on some things. I have to say that when we asked for info some of the younger people didn't give such a good service, my wife and I asked an older guy and he was VERY knowledgeable and helped us make the right choice for the job. As with everything it depends what you're looking for and how you get to it.

Despite the stock checker stating there was stock in store and frustratingly being unable to reserve the item when I arrived there was ONLY a more expensive item available. Then to add insult to injury the shelf price was wrong and only have £5 cash in my pocket couldn't even buy that. The shelf stated £4.99 came up as £6.99 at the till. Explained the situation and the response was "oh". Went elsewhere in the end !!
