Very comfortable stay and amazing room for a 'budget' hotel. Cleanliness was top and we felt very safe visiting during this time. It was very good that house keeping was terminated during our stay and everything extra was available if needed. The lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly as was the man behind the bar who showed us the proceedings for breakfast. Very pleasant all round. I'm so happy I picked this hotel to stay at in Sheffield! Car park was also great to have!
Having the free breakfast in the morning was probably the greatest experience of a hotel I been too ever. The food isn't superb but the fact it is included in the hotel room makes it worth it, they had vegetarian options, I was able to get Quorn sausages to go with my breakfast, shame they didn't have any hash browns, that would have made it a 5 star for me. The fresh yogurt was also really nice to polish off the breakfast, if you are in a rush, there is plenty of food to go. The orange is a bit lacking but I was fine with that being a free meal when other hotels I have to pay a lot extra, and the opening times on the weekends is 7-11, a real good time range. The hotel room was quite nice, TV froze at times on the menu, might just be the one TV however. The shower was pretty impressive, really nice. Beds are alright, could have been better. A decent view from the windows. The parking was brilliant we found a space straight away after driving into the city after 4 hour drive. Was about £6 per a night of parking. The location is really good for driving straight in from the motorway, easiest city drive in ever.
If I could give this place more stars I would as it in my opinion deserves it. Very friendly reception staff. Wheelchair accessible throughout the entire building. . The room is very clean and made up well with coffee and tea facilities. Rooms are cleaned for you daily with fresh bedding and towels. The bathroom is amazing and modern with a lovely power shower. Included in the price is a free breakfast whether you want a cooked breakfast or a choice of cereals and fruit, plus free coffee or fruit juice and you can eat as much as you wish to. It has a well stocked bar along with a extremely high quality menu at a very reasonable price. Plus a choice of snacks should you miss the restaurant times. All in all the Holiday Inn Express in Sheffield far surpasses its 3 Star rating and I will definitely be staying there again and I would highly recommend it for both families and romantic couples . Thanks for a lovely weekend away........
Surprisingly good, apart from lack of bacon. For the price, this place is really good. I lucked into a room on a high floor with great views of Sheffield. It was spacious, clean, well appointed and warm enough despite the January frost outside. I didn't have dinner there, so can't comment on that. It's a little out of the city centre, but not too far - 15 minute walk for me. It's at Victoria Quay, which is pretty with canal boats and old architecture etc, but not much there in terms of places to eat etc. Breakfast was strange though. You can just wander in and bag a table - apparently no need to give your room number. All ok in terms of coffee and continental breakfast, etc. but the cooked option was just sausage, beans and what looked like scrambled egg. No bacon? What?!!! I had to restrain myself from flying into a John McEnroe rage: You CAN NOT be serious!!!!???? At this price, I'm likely to be back though. But there better be bacon, or it's one star for you
This was my first time staying at a Holiday Inn Express and I was more than impressed with the facilities. The bed was huge and comfortable and they provided soft and hard pillows so you could have the one that suited you most. There were tea and coffee facilities, you could contact housekeeping if you'd forgotten any toiletries etc and the enquire shower room was brilliant. Nice large shower and two sets of large, fluffy towels provided as well as two hand towels. Breakfast was self serve and there was plenty to choose from and it was very tasty. This is the best hotel I've ever stayed in and I would highly recommend it.
Close to the city centre - you can walk it easily enough. Sitting next to the River Don & the very lovely 5 Weirs Walk, which is an oasis in the urban jungle. The staff in the hotel are courteous & professional. The rooms are exactly what one would exact from this business style hotel. The all you can eat breakfast is basic but does the job. The bar prices are a little steep at £5 a pint, but not exorbitant. Overall I would definitely stay here again. Good hotel in a good location.
Lovely place close to the city centre. Staff were really helpful and good with children. Breakfast was fresh and there was plenty of choice. No children's menu in the restaurant which was disappointing and no clear instructions on how to work the air con in the room so we were very cold the 1st night. Parking is an extra charge and there's limited availability of spaces. Would definitely stay again.
I thought on arrival the hotel was nice and modern, that it would be a good stay for business. the bar staff were good so deserved a tip. However, the girl with glasses on check-in weren't very good, the booking had parking and food allowance on, but that info was not on the booking, she did nothing to address this straight away and the body language and facial expressions were negative. The room was not made up four days in the week and mugs, tea and coffee were not replenished, so after two days asked reception for fresh mugs and tea etc. The next two days they still failed at this, so I was disappointed with this. The food was average and cooked breakfast repeats on you for a while. Tv temperamental. Location is good but with the road works a tad annoying, as well as the systems leading up to getting to the hotel. I would recommend a different hotel, and stayed in a better one the week before.
Stayed here for a works conference, the room was clean and modern with a great shower! The beds were super comfy. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, with a good check out time. A central location with easy access to the city centre, train station, ponds forge leisure facility.
Excellent value for money on the room and also parking on site we paid £85 which included breakfast, although not an extensive range had the parts to build a decent cooked breakfast hole filler. If we return to Sheffield in the future I would look to book in here again. Room was clean and served its purpose at a great price.
