Good food, good ales and is a good place to relax. It's never full so it's quite and staff are really friendly.
The best homemade Sunday lunch. Choice of Chicken, beef or pork. Homemade made Yorkshire puddings. Very popular on Sundays, best reserve a table.
Friendly pub. Like to go here when The Owls play at home. Bit of a walk from the ground but worth it if you want to avoid usual football type pubs. Good beer and good service. Seems friendly for away fans too. Option to jump on tram to ground if you don't fancy the twenty minute walk.
Basic room needs some decorative attention. The staff are lovely and helpful. Fantastic breakfast ideally located to both Sheffield and hillsborough great for nights out
We stayed in the triple room which was comfortable though not luxurious. The trams started early and made sure we didn't miss any of the day by sleeping in! Breakfast was good & so were the beers. This used to be the Wood Street Brewery so the beer didn't have far to travel! Nice restaurant area at the back with views over the valley.
If a cooked breakfast is a deal-breaker for you, look no further. Finest bacon I've ever had at a hotel. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, and even though the bedroom was a little dated it was immaculately cleaned and well presented. Top marks for this gem of a hotel.
Great place to stay. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Good value for money
Good ale at a reasonable price. Can be interesting conversation, sometimes fairly bonkers. Always want to come back.
