We stayed in the Hideaway Retreat shepherd's hut and it was gorgeous. We were a bit worried when the weather took a turn for the worse that it might be cold but it was so snug and warm with the under floor heating. Bed was really comfy with luxury bedding and of course the view was incredible. If you come and it's been raining, bring wellies!
Absolutely loved it here, 14 of us had shepherds huts and pods, Grandparents got the luxury one! Brilliant bbq facilities, lovely breakfasts in the cafe. All the staff were friendly and polite. The children loved the freedom of the glamping field and the play area, close enough for us to keep an eye on them. As for the animals, naughty goats and escaping lambs jumping out of their pen.. we became expert lamb wranglers! The children loved bottle feeding the lambs and were very sorry to have to leave, as were all the adults. Thank you, Lotte and all the team. Can’t recommend highly enough!
Fabulous short stay in the Bell tents. Gorgeous duvets. Both my sons 19 and 9 yrs old enjoyed our stay. The 9 year old went completely free range and only came back to us for meals znd sleep. The under cover seating area is well appointed so that we were able to keep an eye on the children.
Hilltop Farm has a lovely, peaceful, rural feel and we received a warm and attentive welcome. My teenage son and I stayed in a very clean, spacious and comfy bell tent for 2 nights in September. The double bed was very comfortable, with feather duvet, and the single camp beds were top quality. We hoped there'd be a kettle and camping gas ring - but you need to go for a shepherd's hut to get an electric kettle. The whole site is maintained to a very high standard and as a Covid measure we had our own toilet and an assigned shower slot. There was plenty of space between tents, huts and pods. The farm cafe does a delicious full English breakfast at weekends, but it's popular so booking is advised. The Red Lion pub in Hunningham is quite close for good food. We tried following the 8km three villages trail from the site leaflet and enjoyed the countryside, but the directions need updating! There's also a variety of animals and a kids play area which we didn't test!
We stayed in a bell tent for two nights in August and it was wonderful. Our tent looked out over the most beautiful rolling countryside and because there were only a handful of other campers, it really felt like we had the run of the place. The facilities were spotlessly clean and everything was well thought out. We especially liked the little fire area where we sat on the outdoor sofa under twinkling fairy lights and toasted marshmallows in the chiminea! We had a lovely lunch at Hilltop Farm cafe and then we strolled through the fields to the local pub for dinner in the beer garden. I can't fault a thing! We'll definitely be booking again!
Great weekend away with family at this lovely location. It's a small glamping, shepherds hut and camping site. Very good facilities and friendly helpful owners. An excellent farm shop and restaurant on site.
Second time 'glamping' at Hilltop, had a fabulous time again in two of the Bell tents. So much better than traditional camping- no damp clothes, no condensation on inside of tent, room to stand up, proper bed with feather duvet. Luxury! Showers and toilets are nice and clean. Perfect for a lazy couple of days- Cafe extremely handy and one night we got local Indian takeaway delivered from nearby village. And check out the view, stunning sunsets both nights!
Owner came out in the dark, with all the wind and rain to show us the pitches we used our own tent, and kindly offered a cabin if the weather got too much - we thought this was a really nice gesture. Luckily, we were ok with the crazy weather, and the tent pitching area had good ground - I always worry there might be a layer of hardcore under the grass at campsites, but as it's a working farm this wasn't the case so the pegs went in easily. The facilities were top notch, and it was a great idea to use horse boxes for the showers. One minor niggle I have is I'd prefer an electric hand dryer in the toilets rather than a towel, but everything was spotlessly clean and the decor was lovely. Views from the campsite were just amazing and we were treated to a gorgeous sunset one evening, and it was interesting how you could see Coventry all the way on the horizon. Food in the cafe was brilliant, although it was very busy and I think we were lucky to get a table without prebooking for breakfast, so might be worth considering booking ahead. Some nice choices for vegans - I had the avocado toast yes yes I'm a millennial, sue me . Overall, a great site and perfect for exploring Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth, Southam, Rugby and Coventry - so lots to see and do. I'd definitely return, and probably for the glamping next time. Thanks to Hilltop Hideaways for a lovely stay.
Lovely venue , over looking acres of countryside . Facilities were so much more than expected . Showers were lovely and hot . Very clean . Staff very friendly , farm shop on site has everything you will need whether staying in , bell tent , pod or shephards hut . Of an evening sitting out by the fire pits provided is a lovely end to a day , central to lots of great sites to visit . Highly recommend, wil be returning
Beautiful location. Excellent facilities and the owner was very friendly. Useful to have the farm cafe on site as well. The camp beds are very comfortable which was a pleasant surprise :-
