Attended for our 1st year wedding anniversary today and it was wonderful. Staff as always very friendly and attentive. They added a celebration sign to our table and all staff wished us a happy anniversary which was lovely. Management came over and discussed all allergen safe foods as my husband is allergic to egg and nuts. The service was perfect as always. Food arrived quickly and was delicious, we had the sharing corn chip starter with pulled pork which was out of this world and then we couldn't decide so went with the £60 smoke house platter which was very tasty but maybe too rich for us, but it was nice to be able to try all their world famous products. The grape soda is my absolute fave! I could drink it by the bucket load! It's not the cheapest but you pay for the experience and the quality of the food. It's my favourite place and I can't wait to return on my birthday :-D
We were camping just outside of town and got rained out and couldn’t cook dinner. So we decided to try this place out. I’m American AND from Missouri and BBQ is a staple! I got the St. Louis ribs and the were FANTASTIC!! Highly recommend!! My partner got the chicken fajitas and loved them. The server recommended the Bourbon Bacon Bites to start out and they were delicious!! They are a must!! Anya was so helpful in answering questions and was so personable! She is a keeper! I also lived in Austin, TX for 10 years and have had a lot of great BBQ, and this give the US BBQ a run for their money! Can’t recommend them enough!
Decided to try Hickory’s , has been on my list for a while .nGood interior + kids cinema , that is the only reason for 1 star . I can’t understand the hype .nI ordered steak - absolutely bland and very noticeable smoke fluid flavor- I have tried in many places steak and I do cook steak at home -probably needs to be seasoned properly rather than soaking in smoke fluid .All steak experts that I know recommend good amount of salt , black pepper and garlic , normally thyme as well .nSide dish was fries chips half of container they brought filled with paper . Sauce- I could only taste milk and flour .nMy other half tried roast sea bass- again bland taste , side dish for fish was unfrozen shrimp with some mayonnaise- disgusting.nKids tried chicken popcorn- only few - hardly can fill your stomach again with chips in a container filled in half with paper - see the photo .nNot recommended.nProbably won’t go to any Hickory’s.
We came here to celebrate my fiancées birthday last night and honestly I wish I could give more than 5 stars.nThe service was absolutely AMAZING, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive.nThe food and drinks were excellent, so delicious. We were given free popcorn for the table which was a lovely touch.nThey put a birthday sign on the table and also shook my fiancées hand, asked for his name and said happy birthday. At the end of the evening they brought out a donut for his birthday completely free and without asking!!nnThank you so much for making his birthday so special, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough :nnEdit: we came here for Halloween/another birthday and also had a great time, 3am Mac & Cheese was delicious
We are visiting from the US, and we were blown away by how great the food is. From the moment we walked in, until we left, we felt taken care of and the hospitality was great. Libby was really sweet and made our anniversary that much better. We recently visited Austin TX ourselves,and the BBQ here meets the standard and then some.nnIf you are visiting and want a taste of home, or just want amazing food and drinks, this is the spot.
