Nice and tidy place, nearby free parking. Fairly quick service. Outdoor seating which doubles as a smoking area, partially covered, with a TV. It has a couple of water dishes for dogs so I guess it must be dog friendly in the outdoor space at least. Food was OK but no specials just the regular Sizzling Pubs menu. The app was a bit of a struggle on recent visit as the layout doesn't seem to be the best for a reasonable sized phone? Quite a number of items were marked as unavailable but it quite quiet and service was quick. Update 4/22 very quiet for Sunday lunchtime and yet service was slow, mega mixed grill arrived with only one egg and not two, mushrooms were completely absent losing one star from previous review.
Fanatics atmosphere lovely food all dietary needs were met, staff are amazing couldn’t do more for me and my family. Can’t wait for our next visit we will be weekly. Steve the landlord was brilliant.. great pub Dietary restrictions: Brilliant
Not a great experience. Big man ‘I’m the landlord’ behind the bar thought I was ‘trying it on’ with his barmaid. Shouted at me and walked off. I’m new to the area and was making small talk. I’m also married with children. I was in absolute shock. Avoid like the plague! Well done Steve. Hard man!
The most important thing in a pub is the welcome. We always feel very welcome due to a brilliant landlord and his top quality staff. The food was perfectly prepared, of good quality & served promptly. In our opinion, the food & drink is of much better quality than the nearest Wetherspoon and better value. The Monday quiz is excellent and with Steve's presentation, hugely entertaining.
Fantastic lunch here on a short break. Best nachos I've had in ages - homemade and delicious. Desserts were gorgeous too!
This is the first pub that I've actually felt unwelcome..we both felt that there was a hostile environment. However the food was served quickly and the food was tasty. We definitely won't be coming back.
Had a lovely Saturday drink watching the football.. great banter and amazing service as always. Steve and the team are brilliant.
Recently came into the haywain after years of living in the local area. The landlord, Steve, is fantastic. A good selection of lagers and ales and fantastic vibe with friendly locals and all the games shown on sky and BT. If you want a nice and friendly boozer with good locals and friendly people, I cannot recommend it enough! Vegetarian options: Always catered for if possible Kid-friendliness: Many a children's party held in the downstairs area Parking: Huge parking area for coop next door. Dietary restrictions: Always considerate about allergy
The service was fine and the staff were very nice however this is definitely the worst sizzler I’ve visited. The whole place is like working man’s drinking club club not a restaurant . Too many tvs playing football and rowdy drunk locals .The place is full of dirty and dated fixtures and fittings . Is in desperate need of a clean and refurb . The food was awful. This is the first time I’ve ever ordered a sizzling steak when the plate wasn’t too hot to touch , the food was all dried up , lukewarm and shrivelled clearly cooked some time ago. Wet onions and shrivel mushrooms. Fish chopped in half to adjust the portion size. Beer that tasted like fouled pipes and flat coke. Sorry to leave such a bad review but when you visit a chain you usually know what to expect , like food quality, environment etc, however this really soured the opinion of the chain. Just look at the overflowing piss rivers in the toilets. Needless to say by the time we travelled the 25 minutes to get home our belly’s were hurting.
Amazing food, amazing service, warming atmosphere. You will always be welcome here and get to know the bar staff well. Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: Large kids menu Parking: Free parking just across here and the co op Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible but only some areas, you may require assistance if it's busy
