Ate here twice during our holiday one Sunday dinner. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating to our multi-generational party with picky eaters. The food was really lovely. Just what we needed. Astonished it wasn’t packed. Check opening hours, but we’ll worth a visit for anyone visiting Cornwall, especially if you love good food away from the crush of tourist traps.
Amazing place, amazing food! Broke down on my way home on a Sunday and they went above and beyond to help me and my kids out! Even letting us sit in the warm when the pub was closed and gave the kids sandwiches! Food was amazing especially the BBQ pork ribs!
Great food and very accommodating. Due to a mix up we arrived shortly after the kitchen had closed, they made us welcome and let us order a meal if we skipped the starter. The food was fantastic especially the triple cooked chips. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend a visit.
Holidaying from London and was recommended this place by a lovely gentleman whilst driving past the town of Rose. He described it as more restaurant than pub quality food. Me & my partner Helen both had lovely meals and she in particular was happy with the vegan choices available. We ate there a few days after August Bank Holiday Monday. This meant it was a little on the quieter side, but we found the staff were polite, interested and attentive all throughout the evening. Highlights were the triple cooked chips & salted caramel cheesecake . Would visit again.
We stayed here in 2018 and again this week 2021 Absolutely brilliant place with amazing service. Food is top class and bedrooms first class with all the latest modern facilities. The owners cannot do enough for you so kind and always a smile.We have had a brilliant week here
Unfortunately we had to cancel at the last minute. They were very kind and understanding and did not charge us. I would certainly recommend the Hawkins Arms as they are lovely people to deal with and they run a very good business with excellent customer service. Brilliant.
Delicious food. Personal service. Felt very safe with covid precautions. This venue has become a holiday tradition where both adults and children felt it was a special occasion. For children to ask if they can come back for again speaks volumes. No play area - formal eating and waitress/ chef asked them their choices directly if there was a query.
Oh boy this was a lush bit of grub!! I had a mix of meats for the roast, i was stuffed!! It was mostly fresh cooked, yorkies were not BUT they didn't taste gross like other places that have mass produced Yorkshire's. The service was very good too. Nice friendly and a welcoming place to go. Can't wait to go back!! I want to try the burger next!!
Nice pub. We dined in the restaurant after sampling some of the local ales. Very clean place, good choice of food, which was served fast and a good portion size for the hungry people! Friendly staff. Happy to recommend.
