Oh my goodness!!! This is a little gem, shining in the small village Ladock, Cornwall. I had heard rumours that the heads chefs cooking in this restaurant was special but our experience surpassed all expectations. Service was great; welcoming, coat taken and a aperitif next to a blazing open fire. This place gave me that warm fuzzy feeling from the moment we settled in. Food!! Was amazing!! Scollops to start, an oriental theme and cooked to absolute perfection. Next duck, again cooked to perfection and finished with a delicious tasting jus. I loved the addition of the pink grapefruit in this meal, along with a great mix of root vegetables. Finally pudding, a rich chocolate dessert soaked in liqueur! All in all, a fantastic experience from start to finish and I couldn't recommend this place highly enough!
Really good food and a warm welcome from a renowned chef who has won many awards. Kevin Viner greeted us and took our coats and his wife was attentive, checking we were happy with everything. Younger staff gave great service. I highly recommend this cosy slice of Cornwall with its roaring fire, comfortable lounge. A perfect Sunday lunch, I recommend the Dark Chocolate cream with Grandmrnier, which was delicious and the best French Onion soup I've ever had. Fellow diners were also enthusiastic.
Came for food this evening and me and my partner both had steak and we could not fault the meal at all! It was so delicious and we wish we could have eaten it all but we couldn't atuff ourselves anymore! Service amazing and the pub is so lovely! Not one bad word to say! Will definitely be back againService: 5/5
Just had a fantastic Sunday lunch with my wife. From the moment we arrived to leaving everything was superb. The staff, the atmosphere to the service fantastic. The food was excellent followed by dessert which was wonderful. Thank you Kevin and team. We were so impressed that we've booked Christmas lunch with you. I would highly recommend the Falmouth Arms.
Booked for Sunday lunch and wasn't disappointed. The food was lovely, perfectly cooked and the service was flawless. There is a lovely seating area in the bar as well with a homely feel.Service: 5/5
Birthday Sunday lunch courtesy of our daughters. Lovely food and great service. Cheese soufflé and French onion soup, roast beef and they gave me sone pork crackling in a side dish, bread and butter pudding, Apple strudel all delicious. Will definitely be coming back again.Service: 5/5
Wanted to eat, but, wasn't very welcoming. The old guy behind the bar needs to work on his people skills. The whole ambience of the place felt like a library. Glad we didn't eat here.Service: 4/5
The food was brilliant and I couldn't fault it at all but from some of the staff members it felt a little bit cold. As we came in we were seated and it just seemed as if my family weren't welcomed by some. There was a lovely young lady who quickly made us feel welcomed and I can't fault the mostly quiet atmosphere, just the quiet staff.
All I can say is wow! Such a beautifully decorated place, restaurant and the rooms. We were so brilliantly looked after in our weeks stay. The food was exceptional, especially the haddock special and the cheese soufflé. We were greeted by Jill who was so warm and welcoming, our room Room 1 was lovely and cosy, with great amenities including homemade biscuits lovely touch!. The bed was very comfortable and made for a great nights sleep after 3 courses. It was my birthday on the Sunday we were there, after chatting with Kevin about this we came back to two homemade cakes with a ‘Happy Birthday’ note attached which really made my day. All in all, possibly the best bed and breakfast we have had. We were made to feel so welcome, it was lovely chatting to Jill in the mornings during breakfast and also during the evening. Thank you so much for such a brilliant holiday. You should be proud to own such a beautiful establishment!
This establishment is quite unusual. It is a country pub, very welcoming, friendly and yet professional. The restaurant area is an informal affair but with a lovely ambience. It is nice that there is an adequate but not massive menu - this always indicates that the food will be fresh and not frozen. The food and service were excellent, the food is far far above the standard you would expect from a country pub. The chef, Kevin Viner, takes excellent quality fresh produce and makes it into wonderful food. On top if this the personal attention you receive, not only from the owners but the waiting staff is excellent. The food is price fairly, and there is an excellent wine list on offer. A lovely experience.
