This used to be a lovely quiet place to see wildlife, but sadly now it is just a huge mud pit, with fallen and dead trees. No drainage, lots of building work in surrounding fields, so definitely take your wellies, and be prepared for well trodden wet muddy paths, lack of bins for dog waste, only 3 in the entire reserve that I know of.nUsed to see red squirrels here, but those are no longer there either.nHeard a few little birds today, in the woods, and did manage to see 1 deer, but not 1 bird to be seen at the large pond.nI'm well aware the weather hasn't been great these last few weeks, but it doesn't seem to dry out much in the warmer weather either. Disappointing
Although it was a wet day, it was such a lovely day. The place is small but brimming with wildlife. From Robins to Roe deer. Too many dog walkers though that dont understand the rules of the nature reserve
First time there yesterday and what a beautiful nature reserve it's so relaxing and peaceful with all the lovely wildlife it is such a nice walk and was lovely sitting watching the ducks in the water and even got to see the heron too.... I will definitely be going back
Great place to visit, lots of dog walks and horse riding trails. Only criticism, dogs are not allowed in the water even tho it is right next to a path. There is even a sign in the water which spoils the natural beauty. There is a busy airport several 100s meters away and a large housing estate on the otherside of the woods. In this day and age, wildlife and responsible folk interact without any problem.
A lovely place to walk and relax by the lake watching the ducks being chased by moor hens I think. Plus the beautiful swan and the heron in a stand off. Ha, sounds like a war zone. Seriously, it is a very peacful and reflective space. We walk there regularly when it's not too busy.
