They have some good things going on here every now and then. It's a nice place to take the kids out and about if you have any. Otherwise nice just for a walk and a bit of green near town.

Cafe in the Park is good for coffee and food. Has outside space and is dog friendly. Park has good play spaces for children. Adult Saturday and children Sunday morning park runs. Cycle club Saturday mornings for children.

A great park something for all the family. A boating lake in the summer. There's a skateboard park. And a pub

Great open space on the edge of the city centre, very welcoming cafe in the park with hot meals, also local brewery run pub/restaurant. Brilliant for dog walkers, cyclists exercise area and children's playground. Small boating lake.

A short walk from Haymarket, this large park next to the Town moor, has a skate park, out door gym, kids play area, tennis courts and Cafe. The latest edition is the Wylam brewery in the recently refurbished palace of arts, which has a tap room and event space. It's a good day out for the kids, and nice place for a gentle walk ending in a pint in the brewery
