"Showing the best blockbuster and independent films, Harbour Lights Southampton Picturehouse is a two-screen cinema and bar overlooking the harbour in Ocean Village.Harbour Lights is a landmark building by architects Burrell Foley Fischer which first opened its doors in February 1995. The design clearly celebrates the heritage of Southampton docks, its famous Ocean Terminal and the heyday of glamorous travel by luxury liner.Recipient of a Civic Trust Commendation in 1997 and shortlisted for a RIBA award for architecture, the cinema itself was voted Britain's Best-Loved Independent Cinema in 2000 by the readers of Empire Magazine - the first and only time they awarded such a title."

Harbour Lights Picturehouse is a genuinely lovely cinema. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, with cosy décor and clean, comfortable seats. Picture and sound quality are excellent without being overwhelming. What really stands out is the mix of indie and mainstream films, giving it a unique charm. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the waterfront location adds a calm, pleasant vibe before or after your screening. A relaxing spot worth returning to.
A local cinema with two screens, comfy seats which recline a good sound system not too loud. The staff are friendly and there is a bar to buy some drinks. Of course things are pricier but the overall experience is very nice and it’s great you can take drinks in with you. Nice location and gives you inspiration to watch lesser known and independent films.
Very nice cinema with a lovely downstairs area servicing drinks and coffee. Highly recommend. The staff are great too.
Perfect afternoon at Harbour Lights. Nice staff, nice glass of wine, comfortable sofa seat to watch the film. Respectful audience who are quiet throughout the film. Always clean and tidy. This is why I have remained a member for so many years. Southampton is lucky to have such a great cinema - the terrace is a lovely spot too.
A great two screen cinema. We sat in screen one that was comfy, helped by reclining seats, and not too loud. There is a bar too. I especially liked the selection of films they show, especially the old classics.
