After too many rude calls to the receptionist staff I have made a decision to write this review. I’m so upset with the way i’ve been treated and how my queries have been dealt with the past few times I’ve called this surgery. On too many occasions now if have been spoken to so rudely which has left me utterly shocked. I call up for help with scary and on going health issues to only be met with rudeness and disrespectful manners/communication skills. It also seems to me that if you try to express to them how you don’t like the way they’re speaking to you they’ll just get ruder and more unhelpful towards your queries. I found the prescription lady to also be extremely unhelpful and rude. They need to get better at dealing with their patients. I dread having to call them again. I’d advise against using this surgery. I also don’t understand why they don’t have parking there, all there parking spaces are allocated for staff only and the only places you can park is so far away from the actual surgery.
Hanscombe house always manage to fit me in if urgent. The surgery are excellent and always do there best to help you.
Wonderful service always. I’ve been a patient for 47 years and always have been seen promptly. If I really needed an appointment that day it was always possible if I phoned first thing. Staff are always professional and helpful. I have used e- consult a couple of times and always been called back either that morning or afternoon.. keep up the good work
whenever we have contacted the surgery they have been fantastic. both reception and doctors we cannot fault. Thank goodness for a doctors practice like Hanscombe House in Hertford.
This surgery is in a word, awful. No parking available, you have to park quite a ways away , if lucky you may nab a spot on the street nearby. Trying to contact the surgery by phone is a mammoth undertaking, hold times of over 10 minutes is the norm. And you have to listen to a self-serving smarmy message about how hard the staff is working and we need to ne sympathetic etc etc. Less time looking for sympathy and more time spend actually answering calls would be a start. If you use the e-consult service which they push on you at every opportunity, be prepared for a long convoluted series of repetitive questions which results in either being asked to call in or told to call 111. If my memory serves, in several attempts, only ONCE did I get a call-back from a Dr. Right now I have written this while being on hold for 15 minutes, and have made 38 attempts to get through to the surgery. I think that's a good indication of the standard of service I have experienced.
After a magnitude of bad experiences I’ve finally come to write a review. A mixture of incompetent receptionist’s who give contradicting information from one another along with their awfully poor communication skills. Asking irrelevant questions and backpedaling when confronted, but somehow she manages to ask the same question that has got nothing to do with the point in hand. In the past receptionists would be asking personal questions that should really only be kept between the doctor and patient. Then to only become rude and unprofessional when again have been confronted about it…. If you’ve just moved to the area or thinking of changing to this GP do yourself a favour and avoid it like COVID-19.
Totally unacceptable service. Can't get through for hours as phone is constantly engaged. You have to fill out the online form to get any kind of help and that's usually a dismissive text for a prescription without even speaking to you. No parking spaces apart from one solitary disabled space. Receptionists are rude, ask invasive questions and make snide comments. We're seriously considering changing doctors.
I have been with Hanscombe surgery for over 15 years and I find the service exemplary, for prescriptions, seeing the Doctors, all the things you would expect. The reception staff are friendly and deal with appointments promptly and professionally, I personally have never had any issues. Rarely I have had to wait a bit longer than my appointed time but, this has to be expected in a busy surgery dealing with sick human beings. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff and Doctors for the massive help they have given me over the years and I hope for the years to come. THANK YOU ....
Totally rubbish and disorganised surgery. It’s quite obvious that they want no contact with their patients if any form and make it as difficult as possible. If you do manage to jump over all the hurdles and not get a dismissive text or non reply able email, and manage to speak to a human, you will probably be treated is a similar fashion to dog mess.
Very positive experience. I had a Saturday morning appointment. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The GP was very respectful, efficient and left me feeling reassured. Thank-you.
