Got a TXT saying make an appointments with a doctor. Went into the surgery and was told to ring in, they could not make an appointment at the surgery. Been trying all day. Tried pressing 1 for them to call me back. Nothing, tried calling again was 17th in the queue for 15 mins and gave up. What do I do now?
Tried to get an emergency appointment for my son who had a temperature and sore throat not eating and drinking and couldn’t get his temperature down. They made no effort to see him and initially advised the next appointment isn’t for a few weeks. Eventually they offered me an appointment for him for the following day at 15.15. Which meant I had to go the rest of the day, overnight and most of the next day trying to control his temperature until he could be seen. I ended up in a&e with him coughing up blood from his tonsils. All could have been avoided by the doctors actually seeing their patients. When I finally got through to a receptionist they advised me to use the e-consult online, I explained I had already tried but it says it cannot be used for under 18’s. She seemed confused and told me to try again just trying to get me off the phone. I tried again and exactly as before it was not working. The staff should have knowledge in the systems they are making service users use and not be clueless giving out wrong advice. The time I spent trying to get back through to them for a second time just to confirm I was right and is not working meant that I missed the opportunity for an appointment for my son. If the receptionist had just accepted it wasn’t working when I first got through on the phone then it would have been much easier. The care and communication is disgusting and I’m surprised CQC allow them to stay open. More patients than they can adequately care for. Are they safe? No. Are they caring? No. Are they responsive? Absolutely not. Are they effective? Nope. Are they well led? Clearly not. Looking at the most recent CQC inspection it appears they haven’t been inspected since 2016. Reviewing the report one key area for improvement was “continue to monitor and ensure improvement to patient access to appointments”…6 years later and this is still unresolved. I was advised that it might be easier to call 111 or go to A&E. Only recently there was a campaign about people going to A&E for matters that can be handled by a GP. Yet this practise seen to want to add to the problem that is people presenting at A&E unnecessarily, wasting resources and increasing wait times.
Sent an e consult Tuesday, got appointment Wednesday, followed by a hospital visit arranged for the following Friday. Excellent service.
Dealt with the receptionist who is very polite and friendly. Helped with everything I needed. And was very professional. Thank you so much!
A wonderful team who looked after my Dad up to his passing so well. Empathetic, caring and professional the team of doctors, nurses and admin second to none helping me help and care for Dad. Myself and husband moved to the surgery recently too and We cannot fault the whole team and each doctor , receptionist and nurse We have spoken with all respectful and efficient. Taking concerns seriously - giving great advice and duty of care.
My experiences have always been excellent especially over the last year which has been a very testing and busy time for everyone. I have not had to chase up my repeat prescriptions, always at my nominated chemist in time. The 3 times I have had to contact the surgery in the last few months, once by phone and twice on line, I have had no problems. The on line service is great, a GP has always responded really quickly.
After a blood pressure test a few weeks ago I had to drop in yesterday to collect a monitor for home use. Samantha was very helpful and polite, thank you.
Have always been more than helpful to me. They do the best of their abilities to perform to your needs as quick as they can being a very busy practice. Never had any problems worth moaning about, been here always
I attend the surgery with my mother as an advocate for her as she is hard of hearing and has mobility difficulties. We are always greeted with a warm welcome when we arrive and staff are polite and helpful. Arrangements are made for mum to be seen in a down stairs consulting room; this can at times cause a longer wait as there isn't always one available; however if we do have to wait this has always been acknowledged by the clinician and apologises made. My criticism is, the building is not suitable for people with mobility problems, especially those needing to use a wheelchair, manoeuvring into reception from outside, then into the consulting room is extremely challenging. This being said, staff have been excellent at communicating with us and ensuring mum's health needs are met. Thank you to all staff, especially Dr Shah and Nicola Manager
Surgery Is over stretched due to the amount of paitents. They have used the walk in style appointments and this is then almost triaged as well to prioritise paitents. This is to be expected and people that complain about someone being seen before them as they came in after them need to grow up and realise its not a restaurant. Doctors, nurses and receptionists have always been helpful even when rude paitents have a go at them. I need to see my gp for advice right now but there are no appointments available so i will uttilise NHS helpline instead. They are doing their absolute best under difficult circumstances so please stop complaining and if your that ill, go to hospital and wait to be seen there, if not take a magazine, wear a mask and behave.
