Great, dog friendly pub. We ordered the starter as a light lunch. I had the Nachos and my wife had the Cheesy Chips. Both meals were lovely and well worth the price. Had chocolate orange sponge cake which was gorgeous. Shelby was friendly. Beautiful view out the window. I would definitely eat there again.
Nice food. Big portions of the Fish & Chips. I had the lovely Goat's cheese salad. Just wish they had added a piece of bread with some butter. Great outdoor location on the river. Parking next door to pub.
One of my favourite summer pubs! Such a nice location for Newport to sit outside and have a couple of drinks. The meals here are not expensive and you get a good amount for your money. Plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the sun or inside during the winter. Well recommended.
We been to this pub a few times now the last 6 months, the food is fabulous Today we went to sunday lunch we both had beef It was once again 10/10 The staff were happy and helpful If you have not been there for sunday lunch, may i suggest you try it. Not amazing but the food is ok and the staff are friendly enough. If the weather is nice then sitting outside overlooking the river is very pleasant. Parking is good. Not much for vegans though. They do offer bottles of Heineken zero and have a good choice of draught beers
A stunning, higgledy-piggledy pub with an expansive riverside terrace. The welcome, many thanks to Shelby, was absolutely charming and the food was good too. I particularly enjoyed the views over the nearby bridge as the sun began to set. Would love to visit again in the future.
Stopped for some lunch here with my boyfriend after a lovely walk. Felt welcomed as soon as we walked in, both lady's who worked there were lovely and friendly. The food was good quality and delicious and not badly priced. Pub itself was absolutely beautiful, rustic, old and beautiful views across the river. Definitely will be recommending and coming back.
Popped in here for a celebratory meal, husband had already googled they were dog friendly so a huge win for us. Staff were exceptional, service was fast, friendly and efficient. Huge shout out the chef/s as we had 2 ultimate burgers and onions rings. Excellent food, very tasty and the dog loved his fill too. Highly recommended and we can't wait to return.
We stopped here as our original choice of pub was not serving food. We got a warm welcome the food was lovely and they could not have been any more hospitable. Even more of a bonus is that they allow dogs in the bar area so perfect if you want to stop when you are on a walk. Amazing !!
Really nice pint and a good selection of ales.dog friendly The food menu was basic and only had beef for meat selection on a Sunday dinner, very little vegetables and very little gravy.askef if could have more gravy but the reply was that's it in gravy boat,not enough gravy I replied and no more gravy came to the table. Staff looked absolutely miserable,not sure if because I asked for more gravy but felt so uncomfortable from a vibe I've never had from any other food outlet that was then I decided to leave. Had to ask for a steak knife to be able to cut the beef as the beef was really tough. This review site has given me the chance to express my views for I felt that if I had complained or expressed my views on the service then I may have been bard from the dwelling for having an opinion.
