Pleasant place for a pint. Some interesting artwork on the walls and a very friendly Jack Sparrow lookalike character at the beer engines. Great service and I was shocked at how very reasonable the prices were.
Took a visiting friend for a drink here. We go quite often. Lovely atmosphere, busy on weekends a lot quieter in the early week. It is nice to visit the oldest pub in Newport and see it doing well.
Great service, the best and friendliest bar staff and all around friendly pub, never had a problem with either the bar staff or the customers, will 100% recommend this place to anyone who either wants a quiet pint or wants to go out and meet some interesting people
The bar person made me feel very welcome. Very pleasant during all interaction. Comfortable surroundings,excellently poured pint and very well price. 10/10 in my mind.

Pub was ok..staff seemed friendly but when I went to the ladies loo I was confronted by a hideous smell and sight! No toilet gets that dirty...that's been like it for weeks. Time to sack your cleaners and hire someone who can actually do the job!
First time back since 2013 and same landlord Kieran behind the bar. Only had a quick visit but same atmosphere, almost, from way back. Beer was fine, along with comfortable seating and polite staff.
Nice local boozer, used by Newport football and rugby fans on match day. Good pub for watching live sport and reasonable prices for beer.
