We had a great stay with Marie at Greenacres. The rooms are nice, very clean and even spacious, especially the view at the location is fantastic. You can relax on a nice terrace over the sea or in the comfortable winter garden style lounge while enjoying the view over Portree, which is just a short walk away. The breakfast is very delicious and you even have a huge variety available. Thanks again for the uncomplicated and easy check-in, even on such a short notice. We would love to come back any time!
Beyond wonderful... If you're coming to Skye and Portree, and you must, then Greenacres is the place to stay. The hosts, the breakfast, the rooms and especially the views are all magnificent. Cannot wait to be back for a longer visit.Rooms: 5/5

Great host and hostess. Very well maintained property with a lovely view of the harbour. Excellent breakfasts if not a little too big! About a 15-20 minute walk into downtown Portree. Thanks!!
Amazing bed and breakfast in Portree ! We had a wonderfull time. Big clean room fully equiped with seaview, good continental and full scotish breakfast, amazing living room under a veranda with view of all portree and the bay to stay amd chill with a book and a cup of tea. Nice 15 minutes walk looking at the sea to go to the city centre of portree. I would definitely stay there again next time i come to portree...
I can honestly say I have never been a fan of B&B's, but I can honestly say greenacres was amazing Marie and Ewen are lovely, they make you feel so welcome and their place is spotless and so relaxing, breakfast was amazing and there was so much choice you can come and go as you please. I would highly recommend a stay here, they have reformed me into loving B&B's again thank you so much for a magnificent stay xxx
I have stayed at Greenacres Guesthouse several times in the past. On each occasion I found my host very friendly and most accomodating. The ensuite rooms I stayed in had some beatiful views looking over to the Isle of Raasay. The bedrooms were very clean and were nicely decorated. The rooms had a kettle with milk and sugar to make both coffee or tea which was provided. The breakfast in the restaurant was very nice indeed and was served hot a lovely full Scottish breakfast. The location of Greenacres on the headland over looking the bay of Portree and with lovely views out to sea was stunning. An added nice touch was the use of the conservatory lounge to enjoy a nice glass of wine or a wee dram of whisky before venturing out at night into Portree or to dine in nearby restaurants. I particularly enjoyed sitting outside at one of the many outdoor tables sitting in some nice sunshine! Yes Skye does get the sun to be able to go hill walking in the Cuillan mountains or drive over to Dunvegan Castle and then Northwards to the stunning Quarang and a trip to the piping centre is worth a visit and also a visit to the Talisker whisky distillary is a must. One of my favourite runs in my car took me to Elgol which had stunning views down the hill to a very quaint small fishing harbour where you can hire a boat to sail over to the Black Cuillans. I also enjoyed another trip to the South of Skye to Armadale where the Clan MacDonald centre is located worth a look. Nearby the centre is some lovely gardens to walk around within the grounds of the burnt down castle. Sorry I cannot remember the name of this castle. At Armadale is the Calmac Ferry car port where one can drive straight onto the ferry that can transport you straight across the sea over to Mallaig then onwards to Glenfinnan and Loch Shiel where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his battle standard to fight the English army in year 1745 resulting in Great Britain's last battle fought on UK soil in 1746 at the Battle of Culloden. Then drive onto Fort William, Oban and Glen Coe or go North to Inverness along Loch Ness. Getting back to Greenacres Guest, house, Portree. I would highly recommend staying at Mrs Macrae's B and B anytime. Note: I always liked to go at the end of the first week in August so I could have some sunny days to tour the scenic, stunning Isle of Skye. Recommendation given by Roy Douglas Sinclair. Ex Peterculter, Aberdeenshire and now Westcraigs, Blantyre. Scotland.
This is a charming B&B! Clean, great food and utterly amazing views. Highly recomend it. It's away from city center, so either have a car, or be prepared to walk into Portree.
Stunning view, breakfast is amazing, neat clean rooms. Very nice place. Charges £40 a head.
this is an guest house, great owners and great breakfast, highly recommended when I go back to Isle of Skye.
