I have visited this restaurant four times and each time the food and drink have been fantastic. I don't recognise the experience described by the previous reviewer. In terms of wines available by the glass, this small restaurant has a larger selection than any other restaurant I have ever visited, and the wine list is well chosen and also quite eclectic. Tonight I had an extra large glass 250 ml, whilst the wine list prints the price for 125 and 175ml. I guess the previous reviewer is not massively interested in wine if he thinks that Pinot Grigio is French, but there are a lot of other choices and tonight we were offered a taste of a wine to see if we liked it - always a good idea if you're not familiar with everything on the wine list. The menu is small but interesting, inventive dishes which are beautifully executed. Service is friendly and helpful. There is a very well-stocked bar, making great cocktails and a fabulous selection of gins. If you're looking for great food, great service and great wine, you'll be glad you went. G K should probably stick to a Harvester....
If you want wine and food, I'd go elsewhere. The first time my wife and i went was 3 months ago, we asked for a glass of wine and was asked 'large or small' we went for large! When the bill came they had charged over £9 for the glass- when I questioned this and the fact the largest glass on the menu was £5.50 they said the extra large glass we apparently had was not on the menu yet! I questioned why would you get a glass of wine costing over £9 when a bottle cost £18 and you could get 4 glasses out of it. Rip off. Anyway, putting it down to bad luck we went again last night for my birthday. Stupid I know We'd booked, but on arrival our table wasn't ready and we were asked to sit at the bar. After reviewing the wine list we started with a cocktail which was quite nice and I asked for the French Pinot Grigio, I was told it was not French but Italian and the menu was misprinted dejavu - I also did not see a 'large' glass on the menu which they said would be on there from our last visit. I then asked for the New Zealand Pinot instead- we were eventually seated 15 minutes after being at the bar - 10 minutes after being seated a waitress came to the table to inform us they didn't have any New Zealand Pinot I'm clearly still having wine difficulties with this establishment so I asked for the menu again, at the same time we were told there was no sea bass which I understand can happen from time to time and even though my wife was looking forward to fish - fine we asked for the lamb dish and a rib eye steak. 10 minutes later the waitress came back to say they had no rib eye steak! That's right, I'm not making this up Needless to say we paid for our 2 cocktails and left. Considering the minimal menu which I don't mind restaurants having because they can focus on delivering better food most times I was left with too few options and wine choices I didn't want unless I paid £38 for it If you want to ensure you get the wine and food you want from a restaurant I'd go elsewhere
Very impressed with the quality of food and wine. This is one of Chorlton's best new restaurants on a strip of shopfronts which is taking on Beech Road with speed. Highly recommended
Very good bistro food, better executed than most. Small but well thought out menu. Reservation needed at popular times.
Friendly staff and we all enjoyed the food. Chorlton has many places to eat but this place stands out on quality.
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Manchester. Consistently excellent food. A must place to visit for top notch food.
Great service and lovely food. Portion sizes a bit on the small size.
Excellent nut roast , dessert and wine ..best ever .. we'll cone again when the kids can pay .
Early bird menu is great value for money, best bistro food in Chorlton.
Fantastic Sunday lunch and top notch service. We will definitely be back.
