Delicious Fish and chips with nice ambience and friendly staff. Service is good and the wait for food isn't long. Highly recommend and will be visiting again with an empty stomach! By far one of the best Chippy in the UK!
Disappointed. The chips are pretty average and a large portion is what I'd expect for a regular, fish is fairly nice, a bit mushy and pretty small. I'd have given them a far better rating if it weren't so expensive. The £8 piece of cod is much smaller than the one you can get locally for around £5. And 5 quid for a tray of chips? Far too expensive.
Just had the chilli and chips for lunch. Nice big portion and homemade. Exactly what I needed when recovering from covid!
Visited with my son on Saturday teatime. The first good we were served was cold and it was explained they had been left in an oven that was turned off. These chips were clearly old and not fresh. The food then arrived again and was the same old chips that had been refried. They tasted awful and of old oil. We late some but left most of the food. With a child meal and adult chips costing almost £15 this is dreadful. The staff were playing really loud music - the whole experience was unpleasant. The one thing I expect in chip shop is freshly made chips. I will not be returning.
Excellent fish and chips, served with a slice of lemon and some yummy tartare sauce. Classy F&C shop serving wide range of other takeaways, nothing tacky. However class comes at a price, an occasional treat at these prices.
Really long wait time. Music was obnoxious and place didn't look clean so we decided to make it a take out. Unfortunately I noticed when I returned home, two items I ordered were missing and chips were dry. Fish was decent. For how expensive it is, too, i was not impressed. We will not be returning.
Order was sent with chips burnt to a crisp and uneditable. The ice cream was the wrong flavour, salted caramel which I can’t stand. Whole order went in the bin, was supposed to be a treat but £20 wasted - won’t be ordering again!
Thank you so much @thechippyonburtonrd for inviting me down to try your new Autumn menu! Had such and amazing even and the food was so so good. Legit the best chippy I've ever had, it's not like your usual chippy , the food quality is next level. I even said it's somewhere I'd go for a date . My favourite bits were the black pudding fritters and the spam fritters, both were fantastic. Even better was the spam and black pudding fritter!! Oh yeah. The browned Steak pie is also incredible, better than every chippy that serves Holland's pies! I've also never had such high quality sausage from a chippy before but these guys smashed it with Axons special smoked sausage. They had a brilliant texture and even greater flavour, even better was the battered version. There was so much food and i have to mention the Salt and pepper squid! We had this with sriracha mayo and it was spectacular. Hopefully you're beginning to see why I'm saying this is the best chippy ever Oh I've not even said how good the chips were! They were perfect as they're cooked separately from other items and aren't cooked in palm oil. Everything about The chippy is awesome. Other highlights were the fish cakes and the curry sauce was peng @robbie.reviews on Instagram for more
Staff were nice and friendly but the food was very poor. Chips way overcooked and I could tell the oil was old. Fish average.
Staff visibly dont have a clue what theyre doing. It took 20 mins for sausage and chips. Its tasty though, 5 stars. Think the one guy running things in the back knows what he was doing tonight.
