We are unashamedly a family business. Albert is the uncle of the owner,
Jim Ramsbottom.

Story

We opened our first restaurant in Castlefield, Manchester in 2004 with a clear aim:

To deliver quality food to local customers at a reasonable price in a sharp, modern space. We have pursued that goal ever since and it has earned us many loyal customers. Our menu is unashamedly British with some hints of Italian and favourites from around the globe. Having one of the best locations in Manchester helps – we are situated in the heart of Castlefield in an urban heritage park with one of the best alfresco dining spaces anywhere in the city.

Ever a family business, Albert is the uncle of the owner, Jim Ramsbottom, who led the conversion of Dukes 92 in the early 90’s from derelict stable to Castlefield’s hidden gem. He used to store his tools and materials in the shed where they stayed (with a few other bits and bobs) until the plans for Alberts Shed were formed. He agreed to move out of the shed to make way for the restaurant on the condition that we named the restaurant after him!

A big thank u to the manager tonight and team sorry don’t remember how to spell the name . Service was amazing everyone on point, food was great too, I personally expected something higher level for pizza/flatbread on/for a place of this rang. Very busy restaurant, but that doesn't mean I got a bad service. You can experience the up tension and enjoyable atmosphere. I haven't eaten the gonnochi in Europe, only in my country. So I inevitably ordered that. It was so nice that to my taste. Good mood, good service, good dish *** trinity
Superb food, prepared and presented to the highest quality. The Malayan Chicken was an absolute triumph, in particular the sauce. Massive kudos to the chef ! And to add, the wine wasn't overly expensive as it can often be at such places.Food: 5/5
Charlie was a great server! Really attentive and easy to talk to. I’m gluten-free and had a really good pizza, which is rare! Would definitely return when I’m next in Manchester : Dietary restrictions: Lots of GF options
Had my first visit to Albert's Shed in Manchester and it was amazing. Fantastic food, really good quality and the staff were great. Both Elliott and Will really looked after us. I would definitely recommend a visit. Parking: There is parking just outside the restaurant and you add your registration number into a machine as you enter. We went on a Wednesday evening and parking was no problem. Wheelchair accessibility: The double doors can be fully opened and you don't need to worry about steps in the lower tables. Probably best to mention this when booking.
Me and my family would like to say a Special thank you to Ellie, Martyna and all of Alberts Shed events team for working closely with us to deliver an amazing 70th birthday celebration for my dad. We couldn't have done it without all of your incredible planning from our book right the way through to the the end of our event. We had a warm welcome from you all, very high standard of professionalism, excellent communication and accommodation to last minute amendment which took away any stress. All our guest loved the venue and the events team support us all the way through. Excellent service on food. All the food was presented with love, care tasted amazing. Albert Shead team you Rock and I highly recommend booking Alberts for all special event. The was good, variety of food choices on the menu, good value for money. Good size hall and well presented and child friendly to loin our celebration. Two courses for £14.95- a bargain of an offer! My mushroom bruschetta starter and chicken/pasta main were both very satisfying dishes. Our server was cordial- I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Oh, but the toilets are hidden at the end of a huge maze

Had a great dinner during my time in Manchester, the range of starters we had were amazing followed with the mains which looked divine. And finished the dessert with the chocolate volcano and a passion fruit meringue pie. Staff were also very friendly and would definitely recommend to eat here!Recommended dishesSticky Toffee Pudding, Scallops
