Tasty paneer and chicken curry, also delicious paratha... a bit expensive and also they charge for water bottles and the service was not very nice
We were asked to order entrees if we needed appetizers. If we only wanted appetizers then they said we will not be served. Irony is the picture outside the restaurant
Disregard the negative reviews. The majority are claiming they received bad service - that might be true because they were RUDE DINERS! My husband and I came here on a Sunday evening for dinner and it was an absolutely lovely experience. Our server, Moe, recommended our dishes and gave us some interesting info about traditional Indian food. The food was delicious! And our dining experience was very pleasant. We are traveling from out of the country and ended up chatting with the server at the end of our meal. His father has owned this restaurant for 45 years and he grew up in the area himself so he was able to give us tips on what to do and where to go - must see places - in London for the rest of our trip. Excellent experience. One day we will return to visit our new friend Moe and dine at his family restaurant in the heart of London.
Simply superb. I went to the Grand Indian with my father and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Grand Dinner for only £25.95. Worth every penny and would highly recommend! There was so much food I couldn't finish. Between the two of us, the bill was £63.00,incredibly reasonable for London. We felt that the service charge of 12.5% wasn't enough and would recommend leaving an extra tip for the waiters. The waiter beamed when I ordered the Grand Dinner and a £6.95 fruit cocktail, and the service was splendid for the duration of the meal. Disregard the other negative reviews;this is a must-do for everyone in London!!
I wish I had read previous reviews of this restaurant before dining there. The signs were there upon entering but I preferred to overlook them. The place looked outdated, there was only one table occupied and we were pounced on as soon as we walked through the door. The manager who came across to take our order was very rude to my wife when she asked him a question about one of the dishes. The meals were very bland and contained very little chicken 4 pieces for a high price. We were constantly starred at and talked about by the two managers which made us feel uncomfortable. We couldn't wait to get out of there. We hope people will read this and give the place a wide birth as there are far better Indian restaurants in the area.
I went there with my cousin and his work colleague. We asked for some Bhuna made hot as we're Indian. The service was quick and the food was made to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and have to say it was some of the best tasting we've had in a long while. The waiters were very accommodating. I see quite a few reviews that are not too good. Yes, it would have been nice if the place was not so cramped and yes, it would have been nice if the waiters were friendlier but we came for good food and fast service and we got it. Well Done. I will be back.
The worst curry I've eaten. The service was horrible. The knives and forks were thrown on the table. Zero attention to detail. Our three beers were flat and cost £20. The food was so average. But the worse part was the cockroach in the toilet. Can't say I'll be visiting again.
Food is excellent but don't go if you have theatre tickets. 8 people in the restaurant when I arrived and it took 40 minutes to get my Luke warm starter. The taste was exquisite. Shortly after the main arrived and that too was very tasty. For the food, 5 stars. For the speed of service, 1.
The food tasted well, and the flavours was colourful. However, they were rude and bossy what we should have ordered. Stop suggesting a beer when I already said twice that I wanted wine. The b*tch look he gave us when we asked for only one main course each and no appetizers was the first one in over 1,5 week in England. To sum up, don't go there!
Will never return The manage is extremely rude. We left before we finished ordering 4 of us wanted to share 2 rice 3 starters 2 mains and 4 sides plus drinks. We were told we had not ordered enough food and would have to order more He was bullying us to order more. Not a way to run a business. The tables were tiny and cramped together We will never go back
