I've always had a slightly romanticised view of Central London restaurants as being above average especially considering this ones prime theatreland location. Sadly not only was this not above average but well below. As we entered the restaurant I asked if I could use the bathroom. The one who was obviously the manager somewhat reluctantly ushered me toward the back of the room and reminded me at the top of his voice that the enormous theatre building I'd just left has a large number of toilets, why had I not used those? I decided this wasn't going to be a good night. We determined to make it a short one by only ordering a main course. We played it safe and ordered, chicken tikka masala and chicken jalfrezi. Both arrived unrecognisable in taste and texture with a tadka dall on the side that can only be best described as garlic flavoured lentil soup. The meal was accompanied throughout by a conversation in Urdu conducted at around 120 decibels between the manager and one of the waiters from only two tables away. We were also left in no doubt that the manager had a cold as he coughed sneezed and spluttered his way through our entire meal. The restaurant may have been empty at the time but such crass lack of manners and respect for paying customers is inexcusable. We ate as quickly as we could and left. A restaurant to avoid at all costs.
The service is really poor and rude. I hate this place.
